We are happy to announce that Lopes will be blazing up key world cup races, bike festivals, mega-avalanches and some enduro challenges come this 2008 race year with the support of some long-standing sponsors.

TWO-year contracts with:
- OAKLEY: for some stylish head to toe apparel and eye-ware
- MARZOCCHI: Suspension
- BELL Sports: Helmet and a signature Lopes helmet scheduled for this 2008
- EASTON: Bars, stem, post and just ADDED wheels
- HAYES Brakes for some stopping power
- ODI: Grips
- MRP: Chain guide and guard
Currently holds ONE-year with:
- SUNLINE: Headsets
- TROY LEE DESIGNS: Signature Knee guards and overall protection
- SPORTSMOBILE: Signature Sprinter Van Bike Hauler

Uh, how about a hyphen in the title, spoiled... For a sec I thought Lopes had dropped all his sponsors and gone privateer!
LOL, me too. I thought finally, someone's going to stick it to the man! But alas, I was disappointed, great for Lopes though.
Now here's someone i would like to see riding for Huffy....anyone see huffies new DH AND 4X BIKES, Pick them up at your local Cosco. and just think all the other stuff you can get while your there.........

You think GT will actually field another rider in that discipline? If it was that important to GT and the powers that be at Dorel/Pacific, they would've lined-up a replacement before separating with Lopes.
didnt gt do it as they wanted to move their image from a racing-thoroughbred racing bikes to a more accesible brand. it makes little sense as they have kept other racers such as atkinson and wardell
i always thought of gt as really good race bikes. that what appealed to me why change? dont fix something thats not broken.

Who's bikes is he going to ride for 2008? The Syndicate team should take him, they'd had a stocked team but, it'd be wicked. GT made a bad desicion and hopefully they realise it when GT is at the bottom for races this year and Lopes is still at the top.
ya that syndicate team has some heavy hitters this year. Got to be the most powerful DH team out there and maybe the best ever.
lopes is an incredible rider, but he's also incredibly arrogant... i think GT made a good move, pushing the message that not only do you have to be a good rider, you also need a good personality...
what happened, he didn't say hi to you on the chairlift so he is arrogant? I've met him and he was cool to me so maybe you caught him at a bad time?

none of us know him... but i'm sure many of us have met him... and yes he is a tool... you don't even have to talk to him to see that he carries himself with a VERY high opinion of himself...
