So are you tired of the way your stock lid looks?

Helmet paint.......expensive, out of reach?

Not any more.

mfxairart.com are a small company working out of larkhall, south of glasgow UK.

For about 6 months now they've been turning out helmet jobs for all manner of sports, but with AL (the boss) being an old trail hacker their main business ended up being downhill mtb lids. This year their helmets have been worn by succesfull racers like Scottish champion, SDA champion and NPS runner up Ruarihd Cunningham, SDA and NPS podium hogger Joe Barnes and British 4X champion and World championship 4x runner up Joey Gough. (amongs others)

As well as helmets they do bike refinishing and custom paint on bikes and are currently looking into introducing some bike wear also. Al says "we aint troy lee designs yet, but you gotta have a dream"

For the year coming, AL hopes to Introduce some small sponsorship deals to some younger riders, to encourage them to race the SDA and NPS series next year. Sponsorship deals are few and far between in our sport, so anything to make the riders feel they are supported (and look good) can't be bad!! If you think you may be a candidate, drop him a line.

If you want to look at some of their work, go to www.mfxairart.com or you can e-mail AL at al@mfxairart.com for details.

Yeah Al is on his way to joining the likes of TLD and Dylan Dean perhaps. Good to see great designs coming out of the UK market too.

Yeah I'm with you there JD, but I think (or hoping) that the new site he's building will have a little more too it. How are things coming with the lids you've done lately?

Things are good. Work is being published in Airbrush Magazine, as well as being on board as a contributing writer for the magazine. Haven't done any lids as of late, we have two motorcycles on the go, and a car waiting to go. The que for winter projects is lining up.

what kind of prices would you be looking at to get a paint job done on your average full face? do you just send your lid off with a few details of what you want n they get on and do it?
