World Champs Saracen Myst Team

The 2011 Junior World Champion will be competing in the Senior category for the first time this weekend and with multiple World Cup podiums this year, Manon is one to watch in the quest for those rainbow stripes.

World Champs Saracen Myst Team

The new Myst Team features a carbon rear end, shaving 400g off of the previous design and will feature on both the Myst Team and Myst Pro production bikes in 2013.

The new Shimano Saint is the groupset of choice, the new Shadow Plus rear mech being a real highlight.

World Champs Saracen Myst Team

Fox Shox make an appearance at both the front and rear ends.

Cockpit components come from Kore, with Manon running Kore OCD 20 Bars and a Kore Torsion stem, as well as a Kore saddle and steapost. Below the Kore bars and stem there sits a custom Works Components headset.

Gamut have provided Manon with a custom Union Jack chain device - nice one, Gamut!

The whole build is rounded off with Maxxis rubber running on DT Swiss rims

Last picture, no Union Jack Gamut Guide. Second to last picture? All about the Union Jack Gamut Guide. Funny.

And , is it me or is there red on the downtube on the second last picture , and is the rear chainstay significantly narrower in the second to last picture with sponsors names on it on the lower tube of the chainstays , where as the bike in the last picture doesn't?

Has to be a different bike all together.

Downhill340, you are right, it is a different bike. The second to last photo is of the current Saracen team bike, which all the team are riding. I know that some of the team were already rocking those Union Flag gamut guides at nationals, obviously it hasn't been transferred over to Manons worlds bike. The team bike is also currently running the stock aluminium rear end, which is why it is noticably different. Hope that clears up the confusion.

thank you!!!! finally a bike company does carbon right, a carbon rear end makes more sense than a carbon front triangle as it moves the unsprung mass is significantly less by comparison to the opposite way round, i didn't believe the effect until i felt it having lighter unsprung masses massively improves the suspension performance and way improves the ride, i couldn't believe it when santa cruz, trek and specialized all announced that they were doing carbon at the front first!!! its ridiculas!! thank you maison you do things the logical way, the only problem i found with the myst ive had a go on is that it was a bit heavy..... problem... solved!!!!!

So Specialized, Trek and Santa Cruz, the biggest names in downhill have it all wrong do they?

Carbon is good for weigh saving, but it also add stiffness to your bike. Front triangle is actually the piece that hold everything together. Removing flex from there ain,t bad + you can definitely remove some good weight. Yes, the swing arm in carbon reduces unsprung weight but will remove less total mass from your bike. One or the other is a good upgrade i guess.
