Mark first told me about a line he was building some 18 months ago; jumbo-sized, dirt jump style hits through a forest of cedar and ferns. I came out for a couple build days every few months and was amazed every time by what he had managed to accomplish, largely by himself. Local guys would come out and put in an afternoon here and there but Mark was out rain or shine putting in work. Almost nightly photo updates kept me anxious to see the finished product in person and with Summer sunshine creeping up on us we needed to pull the trigger and get some shooting underway. Stars aligned and just two weeks ago we started collecting our first shots. 3 more days shooting, mostly early mornings and we were finally piecing together the last bits of each line. It's bittersweet finishing a project like this; 18 months culminating in 1 week of shooting. It's almost anti-climactic, but it's also one of the best parts of finishing; the need to create something bigger and better next time. After all, you reap what you sow.
