Earlier this winter, Trek riders Cam McCaul and Brett Rheeder visited the Trek HQ in Waterloo Wisconsin. After building new bikes, meeting with product developers and touring the factory they hopped on a plane over to Ray's MTB park in Cleveland Ohio for a ride with the pro's event. They explored the park during the day, riding with riders from all over and learning the multiple creative lines. Once the park closed for the night, Cam and Brett fuelled up and set back out to film. Trying to keep it creative as the old Ray's 'Odd Couple' contest used to be, the two put their own spin on the park.

Wow it takes some serious trust to let somebody else do your bar spin for you!

 FRIENDSHIP BARSPINS ARE FUCKING RAD!!!
  • 23 2
Your comment actually made me watch this video. I'm not usually a big fan SS and DJ vids. Thx, was fun to watch!

 'Bro-spin'…?

Edit: Sorry, someone came up with that before me! Big Grin
  • 45 1
Super creative of them to use the foam cube to change shots.
  • 6 1
So Sick what an epic vid to stoke you to ride for spring!!! :O
  • 7 1
Yeah that takes trust and serious balls. Also doing a backflip while looking forward is ridiculous. Styliest looking backflip I've seen in ages.
  • 6 1
I really like the association of the red foam cube!!!
  • 4 1
i pooped my pants when they did the freindship barspin
  • 6 1
someone should really make a gif of that barspin
  • 5 3
the part at the end where he throws a foam cude into the tailwhip!!!!! MY GOD
  • 1 0
thanks MasterChris, took a while but is awesome!

I'm so glad that Trek still sells the Ticket frame so I can ride the same bike Cam and Rheeder do....oh wait, they don't. What the hell Trek?!
  • 19 0
agreed, what is the point of showcasing your best riders on a bike that you're not even promoting to sell to the public. not to mention they're not even 2012 tickets.
  • 6 1
the demand was to low or the price too high..thats why they got kicked out of the regular programm...its about making profit and sellling bikes... .........
  • 10 6
...and that will be the downfall of Trek. If they focus all of their production line towards profits, they'll limit their line to 3500 and 3700s, sell out cus their bikes suck, and soon be found in "Wal-mart." If you don't believe me, talk to Mr. Schwinn.
  • 8 0
if they don't sell enough, it's because they didn't focus on this enough.
  • 8 0
I've been waiting to purchase their Slopestyle frame too , but apparently that will never be offered to the public either. Plain old dumb.
  • 3 1
Their downfall will be that they're not focused enough on the mid level market, I'm talking from experience with their road bikes (sorry) but it's a crap product (crap frames, I mean really shit frames) with garbage speck and a massive price tag, unless you go to the top of the line you're getting garbage, go to a competitor brand and you're getting more bang for your buck on a mid priced ride

Is it the same with their DJ/XC/DH bikes?
  • 1 0
It seems that most low-mid level frames also some with low-mid level components, all in which seems to reflect the price. I'm a true believer when it comes to... "you get what you pay for".

This seems to apply to most/all bike styles and manufacturer's.
  • 2 0
They dont even sell the slopestyle one.
  • 3 2
There is no point in selling a frame that won't be affordable to the public. The trek frames they are riding are very expensive.
  • 3 0
If they ever do start producing the ticket again, they should definitely add them into the custom paint program they have for the road bikes, I would pay top dollar for a great frame if I could make it into a one of a kind build.
  • 2 0
Don't know what you're talking with the Ticket frame being to expensive, if I recall correctly it was only $1100...demand was just too low since not a lot of people liked the way it rode.
  • 1 0
I feel like they could spice up some of the colors on their bikes.. recently I've been neutral about the color schemes they have. But awesome video, loved it!!!!
  • 3 0
the ticket frame they sold to the public is different then the one they are riding. The average person who is buying a dirtjump frame wont drop 1100 on a frame that is considered expensive
  • 1 0
But I want a soda slope for dj, it's 1500$ so I went with a decade lol. Either way, some people will dish out the money they have to to get what they want. Point being: STOP MAKING RACER SPECIFIC PARTS YOU COMMUNIST MANUFACTURERS!!! Maybe we'd be racers too if we could get the best stuff too.

Just my two cents.
  • 1 4
If they sold the slope frame to the public it would be close to 4000 just the frame
  • 1 0
And if that were the case I'd opt out for a pslope or a soda. There are people who would opt in for the trek slope frame. Regardless of price... They do it for dh rigs and road bikes... Why say that dirt jumpers would not be as decldicated?
  • 4 0
As a trek insider i can say that the ticket and SLOPESTYLE bike will be sold this year. i havent been told much because there very secerative but they want the bike perfect. ive ridden one and it feels good but they want it perfect. ill say expect it mid/ late summer

I think they should call that trick the brospin
  • 14 0
I have never owned a DJ bike or anything similar, I ride some cross country, but mostly DH. Jump/tricks videos aren't normally my thing........ However, this is the best bike I have seen on PB in ages, definite VOD. Hats off guys, sick riding.
  • 2 1
It's hard not to like this vid...it oozes fun!
  • 15 1
Really wish they still had the ticket and they should bring out the slope bike too.
  • 17 3
I like how the cube hit the camera and bounced off in another scene! This is potential VOD material right here.
  • 17 0
 Potential?
  • 3 0
haha cerial! ther isnt a ANY question about it...!

These guys totally blew me away with the creativity and being able to see their project before it was a final edit. Props to Harrison for having the maturity to work with these guys to come up with this gem. Killer work guys. Thank you Pinkbike for all your support! Keith.
  • 1 0
This edit was DOPE Cleveland is DOPE ... so glad to have such a great place to train all winter. Really blown away from the lines these guys created.
  • 1 0
Not as blown away by the lines they invented, but more-so with how frickin' smooth and easy they made it look.
  • 6 0
 So sick! Creative stufffff!!
  • 1 0
Jump/tricks videos aren't normally my thing, I avoid them....But daaaaamn VOD!!!! The foam brick concept was amazing, the buddy barspin had me screaming in the office, the flick to the brick with the bike....so good!!!

I wish I knew how to do this kind of riding...It actually makes me want to go out and learn this stuff
  • 1 0
Never too late to try man. Unless you're 50, with an artificial knee and titanium hip, then you're the bionic man and who needs a bike a that point....
  • 1 0
Nah I'm 35, the bikes look so damn small though. Someone's storing a Blkmrkt Edit1 at the hotel where I work, I picked it up and admired the thing, it's so damn light, I want one Smile

I wouldn't know where to start, thinking about getting something smaller than my XC bike right now so I can throw it around a bit but still enjoy the trails
  • 1 0
I'm 25 and just recently landed my first 360... I'm about to get tuck no handers... I hope lol. And I mean it's all about what you want to progress on too right. I've also just picked up manuals and have a fairly high bunny hop. Like I said man it's all about what kind of progression you want. When I was younger I just cared about big gaps and drops. Now I want to develop some technical aspect to my riding.

Loving the 'Assisted BS' (bar spin)! and the tail whip baseball. Don't care much for the kind of park vids normally but I love watching Cam McCaul and this video was incredibly varied.
  • 3 0
I think they've just invented a new sport with that tailwhip, like bike baseball or something along those lines!
  • 2 0
