Shredding and big jumps are awesome, but videos like this also deserve a spot in the VOY bracket. Sometimes it ain't how big you go, it's how much fun you have. Fantastic vid.
Cool, but not the Mexico I know. As Joslatapi says, Pinkbike NEEDS to do a big feature on the Taxco race next weekend! I hear Fairclough is even coming over!
I have found Mexico to be a wonderful and diverse country over the years. From the volcanoes to the beach, to the rugged desert of the frontera, it has all been pretty good to me. This was not intended to be an all inclusive video, just a little snippet of the smallest of adventures by a few friends. I wish I had the time to get down t o Taxco, i look forward to seeing your coverage of it here!
Totally understand - Mexico is huge. It would take months or years to be able to say that you've seen anything near all of it. Let me know if you ever make it down to the cloud forests and biiiiig mountains in Veracruz.
thanks so much for all the great feedback! It was a truly great ride with good friends. I'm just glad Devon was there to capture it all Here are a few links with a little more back story if you wanted to know a more about the trip

soundtrack was great
footage and photos great
commentary great
i realy enjoyed this
oh and i thought mexico was a war zone. british new programs only give us bad news about mexico .
well on to the next video.
Dude, finally something comes out in your own country and you diss it. Nice man..........Great props to you on support of stuff going on in Mexico... Big applause!
I think that he says that because of the small amount of things Pinkbike publishes from Mexico, they almost always hang up with no downhill or freeride action, its always North, punta San Carlos, Someone coming to Mexico and making trips etc...with the exception of the recent trip Katie, Chase etc. are doing here in Mexico. But this video doesn't have any bad thing, just that they could show up cooler stories and places about Mexico,... Hope they do with the DownTaxco 2012, gonna be siiiick, Riders from all the world and mexican party! and there are more upcoming events here that can make a better story of my country, more entertaining maybe.
www.facebook.com/DownHillTaxco not good enough but you might find some info, but trust me it´s gonna be so awesome, best riders are going, best place to do it, best food, best people, youll see the real face of Mexico in that event, who ever can go wont regret, to bad im not going
Maybe someone from Mexico should get out in the depths of your own country with a camera and some mates and produce a vid that can show what as you say really happens there in the Mexican mtb community and put it up in this very webpage. You don´t have to wait for pinkbike to get out there and do it for you guys. Then you´ll be able to show the PB community how cool your country is and grand it is for bike riding. Oh, what´s the name of that bird from Jalisco who´s won all sorts of titles and races against dudes?
Well, if you're asking for it - although I'm not claiming it to be a great vid! www.pinkbike.com/video/217282 It's of our local DH track up at 3600 metres altitude (over 12000 feet), from there you can do some awesome all-mountain rides down through the forests.
We actually did this trip last December. I picked the dates because it is usually 70 degrees and bluebird skies that time of year in the desert. But we were the unfortunate victim of a cold snap..With the exception of the wind and some cold toes at night, it was pretty manageable. Cooler temps were a must since there was a solid 2 days without any option of fresh water..
hell yes. Doom is a pioneer of this fatbikes in the desert sh!t...I don't have many other videos like this but I did do this one vimeo.com/40208115 inspired by the packraft/fatbike adventures of the man named above
in hindsight, the whole tour would have been helmet-less and I would have just left the damn thing home. There was no real danger of head injury when suffering along at 3mph in your granny gear on a soggy beach. I can't count the number of times i almost had a fit and threw the damn thing in the desert...
Finalmente algo de México!
Saludos cabrones!
