enh.....ok. sooo, i'm going to continue my life pretentding i never saw that Overvolt video......it's just better that way for me. this is very personal. I cringe everytime i see an electric assisted mountain bike. i understand why they exist, i dont appreciate them.
  • 4 1
There has got to be another place for those bikes... Why do companies keep pushing these things on the MTB crowd?! I'm think it's safe to say that regular MTB riders will never accept the concept of E-Bikes.
  • 3 2
If you don't appreciate them, then you don't understand why they exist. Nico uses it for rehab- no one can argue with Nico.
  • 3 1
he can hit some jumps, but he can't pedal... that doesn't sound rehab for me.
  • 3 1
Wow. ^ Did you really not see Nico pedaling in the video? Oh sorry, I forgot, your narrow mind was focused on his rehab tool and not Nico himself...
  • 3 0
^Why do you call an electric bike a rehab tool? That videos is not about Nico rehab, they are trying to show an electric bike as a cool bike to MTB, I'm sorry about my "narrow mind" but I can't take seriously to someone doing MTB in E-bike.

Because it helps him maintain his cognitive motor control without stressing his newly repaired joints. Duh.
Of he pedals, e-bikes aren't supplementary power; they are complementary power.

^100% correct bikescientist. Nico is using it as a rehab tool to assist in speeding his recovery. Even if others can't always see it, at least a few of us can see it that way.

Todays pinkbike lesson is that you should definitely eat strange bags of mushrooms when jogging in the forest.

The Spirit of Enduro! Those guys nailed it. Spinal Tap level. The "Enduro Joke" is officially over as of now. No one can top that.
  • 4 1
So good. Should have been it's own post on the main page and not just a mid page MFYM pick.
  • 2 1
Ed masters is a spirit of many things. Too bad this wasn't placed on primetine in pinkbike.just given a slot on MFYM. Boo hoo!

The riding of Matt Priest is just so good but it scares me all the time when i watch what he does on his bike with no brakes and helmet. I guess i'm too sensitive Big Grin

He's probably just more comfortable without a helmet which helps to ride, also you'll never see anything with as much style as that with a brake
  • 36 3
Wonder how comfortable he will be without his helmet if he is sitting in a wheelchair not a bike

No Kidding guys, chill out on the no helmet comments for once. its get old reading it, we get it... do you really think that its going to change the fact that he wears a helmet or not? all you sounds like a bunch of mothers screaming at their kid from the front door. its funny that you guys seem so focused on safety when it comes to helmets, but riding along 60km/h+ on a trail must be perfectly safe!
  • 7 6
focus on the fucking riding not whats on his head
  • 6 6
He's a bad ass G! It's cool to not wear safety protection.
  • 2 1
you gotta admit that his style looks epic helmetless
  • 6 1
I didn't know the Huck Wizard before, but now I can ride safely, this guy made my day!
  • 2 2
I have to call BS on the climbing video. Not that the dude isn't ah monster climber, but on the "first ascent". Okay, it's first ascent but your pro is already in place and every move you make to a handhold already has chalk on it!?! How about "second ascent"?
  • 1 0
or its the first time all the moves were linked?
  • 3 0
On a super technical climb like that it would be fairly rare to not top rope down and clean and chalk holds prior to attempting the first lead climb. Sport is a bit different from mountaineering as the ascent doesn't refer to just getting to the top but rather successfully climbing the specific route bottom to top.
  • 3 0
First ascent means first person to successfully climb a specific route cleanly (no falls or hanging on equipment). To "on-sight" is to show up and successfully climb a specific route cleanly first try and with no tips or pointers "beta". It's debatable whether it's a legit on-sight if the route is so chalked up that the moves are fairly obvious.
  • 4 0
I would guess it's a redpoint and almost definitely not an on sight or flash (He references previous failure and the clip of him falling appears to be on that route). 14c (If a fair YDS rating) is a bloody hard climb with a fairly short list of climbers that would even bother. What I think is great about the video though is that he personally does't say anything about the first ascent or grading but rather focusses on the personal experience of achieving a moment of flow and personal accomplishment. That's a lot of dedication for minimal external reward. When you look at the dedication some of these athletes put into their sport, easily comparable to guys bringing in millions via sports aired weekly on network TV, it's amazing their passion can keep fuelling them. Nothing beats that moment where skill and challenge are matched and the body is on autopilot.

too much leggings from the first guy in huck wizard. But great shots

I was hoping for a lot more in the Curtis Keene video. He can rip and it was much more an ad than a video.
  • 1 0
I LOVE MARTIN SODERSTROM!!! I glad he wants to ride as the FMB wouldn't be the same without him.
  • 2 4
I know you can only post what's being made, but this MFYM was lackluster at best. Also, if I never see another no hander, x up, or barspin again it won't hurt my feelings.
  • 2 1
 huck wizard made my day.
