During the Kokanee Crankworx Festival on July 19th, the GLC overlooking the Whistler bike park will host the world premiere event. The new film features 12 of your favourite riders that made the trip to the Freeride HQ in Nelson BC to edit their all time segment covering a decade of riding and filmmaking. Never before have the stars of NWD come together to choose their favourite shots, talk openly about the origins of freeriding and share some of the funny moments and behind the scenes out-takes from creating the game changing series of films.

Stay tuned to pinkbike for more weekly releases featuring more behind the scenes interviews with your favorite NWD riders.

this guy has been an inspiration for me for a long time. if there is anybody out there, whose style and skill level I would like to achieve some day, then its Kirt Voreis. (because the level of CG is obviously unachievable Big Grin )

I absolutely agree, I'd love to ride as loose as Kirt- he makes everything look so easy and I share his attitude that ridng is the main thing- no matter on which level you ride, if you're having fun than you've totally understand the spirit of free riding Wink

So true. His segment was what it is all about. No music, no huge tricks, just a guy, a bike and a mountain.

FYI, I talked Kirt into heading to WR and filming that segment on his way through to Asheville. In the Windrock piece he rode on his 6 and 6 bike b/c he said he always likes his segments to look really burly and the bike banging around everywhere. That section he's riding is big!

But he said he wished he'd brought his DH bike after all. They went for what I think he said was a 3 day shoot, wound up getting rained out for most of it and got something like a 1/2 day to film the entire segment.

NWD crew, correct me if I'm wrong. Oh, and shame on the NWD crew for not including a massive parking lot shot of the hundreds of rock crawlers and ATV's. Big Grin
