For the third and possibly final time, Newton's Nation, the festival held in honour of Newton's Law of gravity was held over three days at Mt Panorama in Bathurst, NSW, Australia. Usually a venue reserved for the Australian V8 Supercar Championship, Mt Panorama was host to a decent line up of Aussie bands and competitors from all over the country competing in DH skateboarding, Street luge, DH Inline, BMX/MTB freestyle dirt jumping/ramp and of course DH MTB/Dual slalom.
All Mountain bikers were racing for over $7000 of prize money and the competition was tight in the Elite Men category with some of Australia's top riders battling for the win. Chris Kovarik took home the gold in Elite with a time of 1:17.48, followed by Sydney's Josh Button exactly 1 second behind, Rhys Willemse in 3rd position, Graham Mudd in 4th and Joey Vejvoda in 5th.
Lithgow local Joel Willis had a great run finishing 1st in the Male Under19 category with a time of 1:22.67, closely followed by Victorian Jai Motherwell in second and Lyndon Nugent, another Lithgow rider, in third.
