There ain't much company offering real mtb pants. they are all MX pants with the leather heat protection. I find them way to warm and uncunfortable + useless.

it'd still be nice for ONE to take out the leather knee panels, yes they might be soft but its still an unnecessary part and its annoying when they introduce a bike lineup with leather knees, still very stoked on the pants and wouldnt mind a set if they didnt have white

The Vapor pants are from the MOTO line, not specific to bike. We are working on a bike specific version that will be out this time next year with the leathers removed and a slight tweak in the cut. To be honest though, the Vapor in it's current MOTO form is awesome as a DH or BMX pant - you won't notice the leathers.

Signing the Athertons was a really good move for them , I think. It really helped them get noticed in the MTB scene , especially with what they've come out with looks really good.

exactly, white is cool for some people but it's kinda silly not to offer a black/dark color offering. a lot of people don't like white because it gets dirty. I'd be all over those pants if they weren't white.

FYI. I am testing a bunch of their kit at the moment, including the socks! And its all great kit, the Am stuff is lovely, the DH kit mostly Motocross stuff but the shorts are very well thought out and the inseam measurement is very helpful when buying!
The jerseys come up with shorts sleeves, and generally a bit undersized in my experience. I buy Large stuff usually, being 6'2", (H&M, Primark, UniQlo and any other t-shirt manufacturer) and i had to get XL as they were too snugg, and short sleeved. If you want full armour underneath it'd be borderline 2 sizes up....
Everythign is very well made as far as i can tell, and looks great in the flesh. Still waiting for afew bits to turn up, but veryimpressed so far. Shorts sizing is pretty spot on, if a little snug.
Dedicated Bike pants/trousers would be a welcome addition indeed!

MX MX MX if you want to look MX go ride an MX bike. I think the stuff looks awful blatently taken from the MX side. Funny they got in to bike all of a sudden, wonder why oh yeah the MX market is in a bad way lets offload some stuff to bike and jump on that bandwagon. Sorry I'm on a rant, I own a store and there are plenty of brands out there doing bike gear right and all of them struggle every year as the bike market is hard work clothing wise and then another MX brand jumps on the wagon. It was worth them getting Athertons but did they have any feedback on these kits, I very much doubt it as they look terrible. Just another set of pyjahmas with a velcro adjustable waist. They also went down in my estimations when they openly compaired the weight of their pant to a Fox pant which was from the Fox MX line and not the Fox Bike pant which is a lot lighter than the One bike pant, for that matter the Sombrio and the Royal are lighter or the same weight and why a pant anyway? hot more restrictive than a short! and the fact none of them have pockets gets me every time. One won't be on the shelves in my store that is for certain. Sombrio, Royal, Fox all the way and yes we have had issues with Troy Lee falling apart for many years.

Heres an idea they could even get the weight down even more if they ditched the leather patch!! or they could replace the leather patch with some errm Pockets. Lightweight what about the durability, can they list that and compare to the others? Power ranger pyjamas.

I have held the pants and they are not only lighter than the Fox push pant, they are also lighter than the typical DH short (shorts made from cordura like typical moto pants). The campaign you are referring to was for the moto market hence the comparison to one of the top moto pants in the market - the 360.

I'm all for moto companies coming into the bike market. It's a fresh new angle and I for one and diggin it.

I think they all look shit. If you want to look like a clown, get a clown suit. It will be a lot cheaper.

I'm looking forward to the day that the clothing designers make something understated and tasteful. Something that you could wear all morning and then go for lunch in a normal place, like on the Dayou Rd, and nobody would look at you like you were from the circus. Sn*ggering into their noodles. Quietly talking about you to thier friends.

There is no cooler photo in mountain biking that the one of Shaun Palmer riding at Sea Otter in his jeans and tee shirt. I'd rather wear golf or cricket clothes than MTB gear, and I ride every weekend.

The best test of if something is cool or not, is ask someone from outside your sport if they would waer it. If the answer is no, you're probably not looking good. If they burst into fits of laughter, like most normal people would if you wore this shit, then you're definitely in need of a trip to a stylist. Or at least watch an episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy...

I have a surfing background and even though I also ride I have always thought that cyclists from all disciplines look like absolute dicks!! Roadies and XCers in their lycra, DHers with garish logos slapped all over themselves, DJers with their trousers round their knees- YOU ALL LOOK LIKE TOOLS!! I will stick to my standard cargo shorts and T shirt thank you very much- I have never been a fan of the Power Rangers.
