PAUL GENOVESE SAYS FAREWELL TO
BANSHEE BIKES

Over the last four seasons, Banshee bikes has been key in my development as a rider and as a brand ambassador. In 2009 I was placed on the grassroots program and after three seasons of hard work I was bumped up to the factory team. The bikes were always a treat to ride and I genuinely enjoyed every frame. The relationship we built will be treasured and I have some awesome memories to look back on. For 2013 I have decided to pursue other opportunities and I would like to take this time to sincerely thank everyone at Banshee Bikes for their support over the years.
- Paul Genovese

Paul is a fantastic rider, and has been a pleasure to work with over the last few years. We have very much enjoyed working with him, watching him progress and helping to unleash his natural ability on the world. We wish him the best of luck in the future, and will always consider him a friend of Banshee.
- Keith Scott - Co-owner, Banshee Bikes

Here are some of my favorite moments over the years while on a Banshee!

This edit was tons of fun to make, it was also my first season with Banshee. We filmed it mostly in Fernie and surrounding areas.

Fun fact: I was riding Rob Dunnet's Legend for this edit. It was also my first time riding this trail.

Making this video was pretty insane. We all put in a lot of work and it turned out awesome. The barspin off the rock was the scariest thing I did the whole trip.

hasnt generated 1/2 the hype of the gwin move though has it? so from a marketing point of view, the gwin move has generated far more publicity.. which is good for both gwinn and specialised.

(replied to wrong comment sorry)

Really? I'm thinking Carrera are just missing that class rider to put them into the big time. Surely they are looking for someone just like this...

In fairness though when I buy a new bike (which isn't often). Its not base on a bunch of tools having a pissing contest over who said what or who did or didnt do blah blah blah .
Based on everything I've seen and read over the last few days everyone would have been better off if they had behaved like Banshee and Paul.
and I would have save loads of time scrolling down pb comments!!!! Smile

Wait, do you think Gwin had a contract with specialized? Because I don't know if you've actually followed the news, but it's been well established he didn't.
  • 3 2
I resume you mean with Trek? Contract or no contract, it will not stop the lawyers trying, if you read the news you will have seen that Trek have their lawyers on the case already.

I'm confused as to who Banshee is going to sign to fill that place? Because now the slope team is empty..

I was thinking that too, surely they have something up their sleeves, you never know, they might sit out for a cranworkx this year, head hunting

tom van steenbergen still on transition?

In this industry movement is good. Opens up new spots to new riders, and gives a chance for someone like you or me (in my younger years) to get onto a team. MTB is still like BMX and skateboarding. We've made it into the Olympics, but just barely. The world does not follow MTB, so for anyone to have the opportunity to get paid to ride is a brief bliss that should not be restricted to one manufacturer or opportunity.

Dude is a shredder w/ mad class. Stoked to see who he is on next and wish him the best of luck.

ALL THESE MOVES!!!!!!!!!! Good luck to him for next season and who ever he's riding for.

Im thinking huffy or any other generic Walmart brand. If zink can do it, I bet Paul could.
  • 2 0
After the last two weeks of excitement I dont think I'll be shocked by any moves this year. Unless Tomac and Herbold are coming out of retirement to lay it down.

 Jonny T and H-Ball?

stranger things have happened....

Looking up old masters turns out mike kloser off of alpine stars is still competing at high level adventure biking events at the age of 52.
