Hell yeah! This thing is going to be epic. Shame Robin O'neill isn't competing to back up her title!
  • 5 0
We're sorry Robin can't defend her title too but she had a conflicting shoot scheduled.

In the terms it says the photographer will be responsible for all costs relating to the event. Does that mean the prize is literally just entry? The winner has to cover travel, accommodation, meals etc.?
  • 1 0
Its only open to Canadian / US residents anyway, so if you're thinking of entering....
  • 1 0
Ah, must have missed that bit. Smile

No its open to any nationality, Mattias Fredrickkson (Sweden) won the first year. they just have to be in Whistler or prepare to travel to it. That would be a massive budget to fly people there, put them up etc. Most of them are at CWX at that time anyway.

While the actual competition may be open to all nationalities, the wildcard spot isn't:

"ELIGIBILITY: Pinkbike Deep Summer Wildcard (the "Competition") is open to residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) and legal residents of the United States of America who have reached the age of 19. "
  • 5 0
of course Quebec isn't in it...
  • 1 0
 Wow such a Bummer. =/
  • 4 0
Didn't Quebec want nothing to do with Canada anyways? Be careful of what you wish for I guess...
  • 1 0
yea that was a while ago, but it was only half of Quebec that wanted to separate... I'm not one of those people.

great slideshow, but pinkbike needs to get a different camera. The electronic garble is annoying and has been prevalent in alot of their other videos

Does anyone know what's going on with this contest? I haven't seen anything about voting even though the 29th is already several days passed.

mayyybbbee this year.... probably not though. these boys (and girl) have talent and experience like no one else.

WOW! What an epic set of photos.

I think they should all have their cameras taken away and replaced with iPhones to make things more interesting. See what they're capable of without all the fancy equipment! tup Big Grin
  • 5 0
probably a lot, make them do it on film cameras with limited shots that would be interesting. But the photos will still be top quality most likely.
