Red Bull Foxhunt went off with a bang in Rostrevor with 400 hounds (mountain bikers) being chased hard by World Cup Downhill legend, Gee Atherton.

Last year only one rider managed it, but this year 30 out foxed the Fox. First place went to Colin Ross who thundered into the finish line arena with a good lead ahead of last year's winner Greg Callaghan of Dirt Norco with Joe Barnes of the Dudes of Hazzard in third.

Shot with the support of Garmin's Virb camera.

Amazing race, it was the best weekend I've spent on a bike. Bumping into Gee, Greg Callaghan, and Joe Barnes was surreal after watching them race online. Fantastic event and the facilities and organisation were top class.

It was incredible. Probably the best time I've spent on a bike too. The course was absolutely mental. Open field into a lovely bit of single track, then double track, then a proper, gnarly downhill course. You've never seen fast until you've had Gee roar passed you in the air. He's like a mountain biking robot.

That's just got to be a blast for Gee - I'd be nervous with him on my tail - all 0.000015 seconds of it!

Looks so fun. Its like mx meet dh track, So many riders fighting for lines. Love it.

New sport? 4riders on downhill at the same time?
4x meets downhill that would be well entertaining.

it was insane racing when we got to the official downhill part of the course, riders crashing everywhere, you where taking lines you normally would not have seen just to get by people, last year was tougher as in a lot of pedaling but this year was the course was epic, soo fast and gnarly, racing against gee atherton and the guys from 'The Dudes of Hazzard', just awesome meeting them and racing against them for about 10 seconds until they where gone lol, can't wait for next years event, 2012 had about 140 riders, 2013 had over 400, It's anyones guess as to how many turn up next year!

Just told the wife, "That guy's helmet is just like mine.." Then she slapped the screen down on my hands and told me to put Pink Bike away and go to bed. She rides too but has to get up early, so goodnight Irish.
