bigquotesIt was super cool to have the Rays crew working with us to make this video better. They put a lot of work into building some sick jumps and new lines - Tom van Steenbergen

bigquotesIt was kind of hard to find something "big" due to the low rafters, but this was one area where we could possibly do something gnarly. Tom and I were about a foot away from hitting the roof with our wheels, but inches from hitting a sprinkler pipe... - Brett Rheeder

photo
Lets play a game called Where is Harrison shooting from this time
bigquotesI wanted to get some unique shots, and with the encouragement of Brett and Tom, I seemed to end up in the rafters more than a comfortable amount of times - Harrison Mendel - Cinematographer

A big thanks to everyone at Rays MTB for the hospitality, staying late and building some cool features!

 So many oppos
  • 4 0
Does anyone know if Tom's whips were all oppo or does he always kick them with his front foot?
  • 7 1
 he kicks them goofy
  • 2 0
That was just sick! Speed, flow, lots of trick- jumping over the fences throwing down some of the best stuff. The music was way better on this video, too much dubstep and all that junk.

unreal riding but am i the only one whos not in love with rheeders new paint job?
  • 6 1
 Yes.

Dope edit and riding, but doing an edit with these two riding park doesn't do their skills true justice. Hopefully during the summer they will do a dirt jump/big bike freeride edit together.
  • 3 3
no your are not trade the white for black toms bikes is nice and simple tho loved the style from both!
  • 2 1
One of the coolest bike I have every seen!

  • 2 0
he's sponsored by trek and gets new frames whenever so therefore, white paint job, TOTALLY SICK
  • 1 0
sstill meh i would of done a somethi1ng more colorfull
  • 5 0
its sick, just like most of his other pain jobs. my favorite was his yellow slopestyle bike from last season. if you get the chance to have a custom paintjob you may as well get creative.
  • 4 2
This is sad. The top and most discussed comment for this great video is about a bike and not about great riding, skill etc...

Toms front flips are sooooo dialed
  • 16 2
 This whole edit is dialed

  • 1 2
Bearclaw gon' envy Tom able to launch fronties at ease.
  • 13 1
How exited was I for this video to come out? Psyched on life.

 @aristotlepeters

A brief Google search reveals no solid data that mouth guards decrease or mitigate concussion risk. Urban myth, my friend.

And I totally replied to the wrong thread, so there.
  • 3 2
Mouth gourds are there for tooth chips and jaw injuries. But I know the ones they use for football help to prevent concussions.
  • 1 0
I wear one, but that's just cuz getting hit in the mouth sucks and chipped teeth are not fun. At all.

I remember when I rode park. It looked nothing like this!!
  • 3 0
I remember when I was at Rays Cleveland and J.D. Swanguen hit and blew up a florescent light trying a big transfer. Low ceilings are a problem but those places are still magic! Rays is awesome and that was a great vid.
  • 5 0
Is that a carbon hood hanging in the rafters?
  • 6 0
No its a steel Subaru hood from someones rally car, I helped Derek hang it up there after hours a few years back. Its quite heavy....
  • 1 2
what year is the scoobie? most of the newer ones have alu hoods IIRC
  • 1 0
Not sure what year rally car its from, we hung it up the 2011/2012 season, I'll snap a photo of the other side with the racing graphics and I bet a fan can figure out the year and driver from that.
  • 2 1
I'm kinda curious how many people are going to see this video and try some of those insane transfers! After riding there a few times I know there are people with the skills to pull some of them off. Always great to see a place you've been to on PB!
  • 2 1
f*cking awesome!!! And I haven't even watched the video yet!!!!

I'm not a fan of bright neon colors but Rheeder's bike is tight. I love white so that's probably it & the neon accents go well with it.

I AM SO HYPED ABOUT THIS VIDEO
  • 15 16
 Awesome riding!

However, I'm rather confused about and would appreciate somebody explaining to me:

- Skate-helmets and mouthguards { if you want both a helmet on your head and not smashing your teeth in, why not use a full-face helmet?}
- The skinny jeans and baggy shirt juxtaposition {restricted movement in the lower part of the body combined with a comfy roomy shirt in the upper part?}
  • 19 0
Skate helmets so you can see landings easier in front flips and other tricks, skinny jeans as its the cool thing going right now I think! Jeans also offer a little protection, and when you rip them they don't cost a ton to replace. Rad video!
  • 16 1
I have learned something today. Today is a good day.
  • 19 0
skinny jeans are stretchy so theres no restricted movement at all if anything there is more movement and they dont get caught in your chain. as for the helmet situation... try riding all day indoors with a fullface, you will sweat your own bodyweight.
  • 6 3
Mouth guards greatly decrease the chance of concussions. It's not about their teeth, it's about them not getting injured.
  • 11 1
I'm surprised no one has pointed this out but... you can still hit your chin wearing a full face helmet...

Leave it to the internet to have a thread about two MTB shredders turn into a discussion on fashion Smile
  • 3 1
Boys! Brett, Harry Tom I was smiling the entire time watching this! Such an awesome edit!
  • 3 1
the backflip to frontflip combo from Tom looked straight out of a video game
  • 2 0
Just happy to see Brett back on the bike doing what he does! Looking forward to an awesome season!
  • 2 1
Yet again mind spark - not even a DJer but I always watch ur edits cos the fukin boss! Keep em coming!
  • 1 1
the continuity in the rider movement is so well thought out. Rheeder's transfers are wicked.
  • 2 1
Enjoyed this video more than any other this year, top effort - skills to the max
  • 3 1
that van Steenbergen is so hot right now
  • 2 1
Rheeder's transfers are awesome! Line selection! Creative!
  • 2 1
Best edit I've watched in such a long time. keep them coming!
  • 3 3
I would have been scared to hit my head on those rafters just jumping there, let alone doing tricks.
  • 2 1
Once again BR sick riding and edit bro.
  • 2 3
would be interesting to see a BMXer do the same runs. I tend to hold the view that this is just bmx-ing on a bigger bike with no real difference....
  • 2 1
Not even joking this is one of the sickest things i have seen all year.
  • 1 0
Why is every trick showed two times?
  • 2 0
Because it looks like its continuous. So looks like theres 10 cameramen and Brett and Tom are shredding constantly for the whole video. Even the sections follow on from each other. Its much cooler and cleverer than showing a guy doing something on a ramp, then cutting to another ramp.....
  • 1 0
That paint scheme is the shit
  • 3 2
 So sick
  • 6 6
the foam transfer at the beginning was sick
