The annual Rocky Mountain Bikes team trip was held on Vancouver Island BC. One week of team-building. One bike. And a whole lotta' good times.

Our plan was to do a fun, relaxed tour of the Island's goods. From its southern capital of Victoria, all the way to its northern end and the tiny, remote Island of Alert Bay.

Stay tuned for part two of the Rocky team trip, which will include the video edit of the whole trip.

I would ride a scooter to school for a week to get me one of those bikes! It would pain me but I would do it.
  • + 23
Same here, and I live 20 miles away from my school
  • + 5
I do own one of those bikes and this article is only scratching the surface at the fun to be had on the new 7 series Altitude. Smile

You've never ridden a scooter to school??? Dude, you're missing out big time. Almost as fast as a bike, and dont have to worry about it getting stolen, it fits in your locker.

I am looking at getting an Altitude 750. What are your thoughts? Many reviewers say the geometry is a bit "confused" do you agree? Thanks man happy riding.
  • + 1
Love my 790.... Swapped the wheels tho.... Really can do it all
  • + 2
I'd rather see a carbon 650B Slayer come out and into my garage. Far and away the best bike Rockys made in a LONG time.
  • + 2
If the geometry feels confused, change it. That is the beauty of Ride9. It took me a bit of fiddling to find the geo I like and what shock/fork/tyre pressue to run with it but I have it dialed now and fisting the bars has never felt so safe. I love it.

Mt. Tzou is rad! Nice to know the trails have survived the development creepage that has inched up the mountain. Not mentioned in this article (perhaps for obivous reasons) is that the big cross in the Tippie silhouette pic is referred to by most old school riders as the Kona Cross. Beautiful shots, and really a great place to ride and then relax.

Saw them riding in Cumberland, nothing but smiles on their faces

I saw them riding in Cumberland, lucky for them I didn't recognize them so I couldn't harass them like a over energetic puppy. Soon as a saw the row of Rocky Mountain bikes in this article I remembered... Oh well, next time...

drtyboy have you even ventured south of Nanaimo. There is pretty awesome riding from one end of the island to the other. Was a great surprise to have the Rocky crew show up for our weekly Sooke evening ride. Good times.
  • + 1
Actually, I lived in Langford and Duncan. I did lots of riding in both places, and still do. I wasn't trying to knock them. I was just a little curious why they didn't move farther north. There really is a lot more stuff up here. Built by some pretty renown trail builders. I have love for the whole Island. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
