That Ibis maximus is awesome, can't imagine how long it took to design that thing, let alone find the materials to actually make it.

To bad they put a manitou on it

What an amazing piece of art.

Shame there's huge dents in the wheels too, there's a big gap in each one! Wink
  • 1 0
it's the welding that i'm really impressed with - someone should give this guy a job welding standard bike frames together! Looks as smooth as carbon!
  • 5 0
 Wow! A 69er!
  • 2 0
im genuinely intrested in how that thing would feel to ride downhill
  • 3 0
maybe Optimus Prime could ride that thing lol
  • 1 2
Erm.... Its not welded andy-k. Its made from wood.
  • 2 0
No it isn't. Look on the specification page.
  • 1 0
Fair enough... I've been back and had another look. Hold my hands up - it is fabricated tubes. And yes, that is pretty nice craftsmanship. Had presumed (wrongly) they had sculpted it from wood (that would be easier!).

This was a while ago Wink

o my lord that v10 carbon is a piece of pure art i want one more then my next breath
  • 14 1

Clearly you don't remember the 15minutes when the Azonic Love Seat and SDG Big Boy were as cool as it got...
  • 1 0
I still have a Love Seat packed away somewhere from my RM7...because who wanted to be like bender and tape two seats nose to nose over your top tube!...ha
  • 1 0
High Rollers F/R, interesting. I think the seat looks too high, not necessarily too big.

Wait, Foes without Curnett F1 forks????? So they go from something probably 2nd to Avalanche in terms of sheer awsomeness, and throw some crappy new gen forks on??? Curnett and Avalanche own the valving market. Shit, if Curnett made A/M stuff like Avy is, they'd be rockin' also.

I always find it funny how people always run to light weight. BUT, companies like Avy have adapted and make some of the best after market stuff around for the new gen stuff. Black Box etc can't even get close.
  • 1 0
since when is avalanche racing making AM stuff? The forks are DH unless you want to use a 190mm fork for AM. The shocks come in various lengths so you could use them for AM. They do make cartridge kits for other forks but nothing under 180mm as far as I know. At least they put an upside down fork instead of a boxxer...
  • 1 0
I second you 'rffr' - I ride a Foes 2:1 fly with curnut ITD and ti spring, it is by far the best bike i've ever ridden hands down, and the shocks performance is just awe inspiring compared to fox/rs - its a sad day to see the disappearance of Curnutt simply because Foes are trying to appeal to the popular market :-(

Oh man. I had the idea for those 'wingtip' bar extenderes two years ago. Wish I was an engineer/had any money to follow something like that through :'(
  • 1 0
Next thing is making a universal bar extension system. That would be awesome.
  • 3 0
I think that it's not a new idea? It just never caught on.
  • 1 0
The odi just fit on specific bars with thread on the end. If it was universal it might be more popular.
  • 5 0
i wanna get some and put them on the super star 915mm bars for the lolz
  • 2 0
Or on those Syncros 1000mm bars, that would be for the lolz
  • 2 0
I bought my first dh bike used and didn't take off the grips until a year later when it was time to replace them. Apparently if you take a block of wood and shove it half way into the bar's end and then cut the ends off an old bar and then hammer them onto the protruding blocks of wood you have a really ghetto bar extender. Needless to say my bars are now an inch shorter again.

Not a new idea at all - Nathan Rennie was running such things at least as far back as when he joined The Syndicate. It was published in a magazine.
  • 2 1
maybe you could do that with a kind of star nut, like you get in steerer tubes?
  • 1 0
K9 industries have been making adjustable width bars for a while now
  • 1 0
I just like the smile at the end of the caption.
  • 1 0
Sweet idea, and creates a more natural bicycle. Who thought that up? Wood is everywhere, and alot of times you can get it for free.
  • 1 0
If you like the wood helmets, check this out. These bikes ride amazingly well, look awesome, and are natural. Sure they aren't good for much more than xc but it's a great idea. I visited their shop once and it was pretty awesome. www.sylvancycles.com

I got this trendy wooden helmet! unfortunately it was riddled with knots, about as protective as an eggshell... and Im now comatose due to a subdural hematoma! at least people thought I looked cool......
  • 3 0
Wearing a wood helmet? I assure you, they didn't.
  • 3 0
Surprised nobody noticed the Kashima flavored sanctions on the "Trance" and "Vengance" X-Fusion forks.. interesting..

"This is still my favorite looking AM bike, the Commencal Meta AM."
REALLY? Don't know if it would even make my top 10...Top of the heap right now is the Intense Carbine. The Nomad, Slayer, Enduro, Range, Mojo all way sexier.
  • 4 0
All personal opinion, but those are sexy too.
  • 2 0

 X-fusion....Y NO DUAL CROWN!?
  • 5 0
Don't worry, the research they are gaining will result in an insane dual crown! That is, of course, if they have being doing research for a dual crown...
  • 2 0
 huh?
  • 1 0
Has anybody spotted the Saint rotor with radiator fin on an actual bike yet?

  • 6 0

  • 1 0
2nd that, i kinda like it, maybe in another colour, but the shape and styling is pretty squared
  • 4 0
in white you'd look just like a Stormtrooper. And I mean the Star Wars kind, not the WWII German soldiers.
  • 1 0
