Sometimes getting up a climb on a mountain bike can be an exciting challenge. This particular little climb in Sedona has been done by more than a few people I'm sure, but it takes a bit of work and some skills. At least 4 people in our group tried it multiple times, and it claimed several tires with pinch flats. Ride at it as fast as you can, drop a couple of gears and hop up the first ledge, then the second, then try to pedal to the top. A few came close but Eric was the only one that made it...

The Pinkbike user with the best comment getting up wins the bag, an EVOC Freeride Pro 20L series riding pack.

Please keep in mind that we choose the winner based on the best comment, it does not and never has had anything to do with the number of props. Also keep in mind that anyone found to be giving out negative props to a number of users without explanation or reason given will be banned for prop spamming.

PAST WINNERS

Sequence Saturday 26 - Ian Hylands sequence of Kirt Voreis doing a big Ally Oop Transfer. The winner is iceman8 with this comment:
bigquotesShaq called, he wants the title of biggest alley-oop back...

iceman8 wins a EVOC Freeride 20L Pack.

Sequence Saturday 27 - Ale di Lullo's sequence of Sam Reynolds crashing at Crankworx Les 2 Alpes. This was a tough one to choose with several great get well soon comments and rhymes. The winner is TREK17 with this comment:
bigquotesDear Sam, Roses are Red Bruises are Blue, You've done one backflip, But how 'bout two? Get well soon man and that's all I got.

TREK17 wins a EVOC Freeride 20L Pack.

Sequence Saturday 28 - Norbert Szasz's sequence of Cam Zink 360'ing at Chatel. The winner is GettingFaster with this spin to win rhyme:
bigquotesWhen approaching a drop of this extra large size, Cam has to stay focused, with his eyes on the prize,
No hesitation, the action is go, then everything around him turns to slow mo,
Spinning with style, with grace, and with ease, Cam nails the landing and fills it with steeze,
No one flows 3's like the man they call Zink, the new king of the sequence on the Bike that is Pink!

GettingFaster wins a EVOC Freeride 10LCC Pack.

Sequence Saturday 29 - Ian Hylands sequence of Martin Soderstrom's nac at Claworx. The winner is mtbrider619 with this comment:
bigquotesNac-nac...Who's there? Martin Soderstrom

mtbrider619 wins a EVOC 25L Park Pack.

Sequence Saturday 30 - Ian Hylands sequence of Anthony Messere sending it on the hip at Crankworx. The winner is downhillaforlife with this description of Anthony's air:
bigquotesThat sign should say MARS, not SRAM, because Anthony just flew into outer space.

downhillaforlife wins a EVOC 25L Park Pack.

Sequence Saturday 31 - Charles Robertson's whip sequence from the Four Cross Pro Tour. The winner is sugar with this sideways comment:
bigquotesI never thought that I'd say "I just saw four dudes whip it out, and I liked it" I hope that I can show you my bag in return. (my new EVOC bag)

sugar wins a EVOC 25L Park Pack

Sequence Saturday 32 - Landon Stirling's sequence of Kurt Sorge whipping. The winner is fitzy96 with this comment:
bigquotes"If I could of whipped out something that big, my ex wife wouldn't of left me for the Gardner WinkWinkWink "

fitzy96 wins a new EVOC Freeride 20L Pack

Sequence Saturday 33 - InFocusmtb's sequence of Andy Tillman in the Kamloops Bike Ranch. This was a hard one to pick but the winner is munro3 who put a lot of work into this comment:

Experimental physicist, Nicola Pescetto, discovers new subatomic particle while observing super-motion and anti-symmetry in the Large Cycling Accelerator (LCA) located in Kamloops, BC. Pescetto used a photography technique often referred to as transitional photography, or sequence photography, to capture the peculiar motion of the ½ spin Tillmann-Quark (also known as a Cork-Flip). The elusive particle appears to have a reverse rotation quantity of 1 and a horizontal rotation quantity of ½, thus defying symmetry. Though the ½ spin Tillmann-Quark was previously thought to be impossible and disregarded by physicists worldwide, it is now being described as the final piece of the puzzle to classical physics. Some are going as far as to say that the ½ spin Tillman-Quark will explain the final mysteries of the universe.

The Tillmann-Pescetto formula:

~½ = 2Pi + (½) / 2Pi +1 (V^2 – C^2)

munro3 wins a Evoc FR 20L series riding pack.

Sequence Saturday 34 - Ian Hylands sequence of Cam McCauls canyon gap flip. If you haven't figured it out yet winning has nothing to do with props, but more with making a well thought out articulate comment. This weeks winner had both, chainrxn wins with this crazy comment:
bigquotes I once heard that Cam McCaul arm-wrestled Clint Eastwood in a seedy nightclub called The Alibi- an old IHOP that started selling beer to bolster lunch sales and never looked back. McCaul was about to lose, badly, when he remembered that Eastwood was ticklish in the scariest of all places...his bald spot.
McCaul reached out, and instead of manhandling his vodka-soaked short-stack of pancakes like Clint thought, he let his fingers do the moonwalk right over the shiniest place on the mans head.
Needless to say, Clint lost it.
Never before had such peals of laughter echoed through that dank, dark place. The cooks looked up from their toast a la whiskey. The diners looked up from their complimentary wine-cooler fruit-bowls. The hostess woke up for a brief second, mumbled something about Brett Tippie tipping wonderfully (a story for another time), and then fell back asleep in the defunct claw-machine prize bin.
Cam McCaul won something that day, and Clint Eastwood lost his most precious gift- the personal gravity that made him a star. Cam could now soar over canyons and flow down the steepest chutes in perfect poise...double your gravity, double your fun.

chainrxn wins a EVOC Freeride 20L Pack

Sequence Saturday 35 - Ian Hylands sequence of Cam McCaul airing over the Rampage canyon gap. This was a hard one to choose, the winner ends up being Savaninja with this comment:
bigquotes Newsflash: Helicopter crash in Utah. A very small helicopter today crashed in Utah, the cause thought to be linked to the nearby mountain biking event: Red Bull Rampage. As the helicopter was passed over by an as-yet unknown flying object, failure of the aircraft's engines are thought to have occurred due to an ingestion of a large quantity of 'sick air'. Pilot testimony likened the object to two joined flying saucers, with one emitting a ratcheting clicking sound. The Pilot sustained minor injuries, the most significant of which was a hyper-extended stoke gland, but is said to be in an otherwise stable condition. Authorities have warned against further air traffic, as further large quantities of this air are expected to appear in the near future...

Savaninja wins a EVOC Freeride 20L Pack

Am I supposed to talk about the sequence? Ide rather give you a recipe for some really nice home made beef burgers.
- 1kg of minced/groud Beef
- 2 tea spoons of english mustard
- 2 tea spoons of oregano
- big splash of tobasco
- 1 clove of garlic, chopped
- 1 tea spoon of tomato puree
- salt and pepper
- one egg

Get your hands in there and mix it up, make a few nice burgers and grill em up!

Sometimes it is as rewarding to pedal up a steep climb; which no-one else can, as it is to pin it down it. It takes just as much skill, balance, agility and endurance to navigate your way up a surface as it does to bomb it down one. This is why i love mountain biking, is so many different people get so many differen't kicks from so many different aspects of the sport. Some love to climb, some love to cruise and some love to bomb it down a DH track. Mountain Biking us such a versatile aspect of cycling.

There's a short technical climb on one of my local trails that has been my nemesis so far. Even though I fail misserably every time I try it, it's great fun trying to ride it up and holding mini-contests with friends to see who will get further up. I used to hate climbing of any kind but after discovering a few chanlenging technical uphill sections I've changed my mind. If it's fun I'll ride it!

I know this spot in Sedona & have gotten applause from the pink jeep tourist for just bombing down it. The camera does it no justice - this guy is a badass for riding up it. Most people on this site could ride down it but I doubt if 1 in 100 could ride up it. Steep/technical enough your girlfriend will always walk downSmile

But when I see a sequence Saturday like this, with no tricks, hucks, or big roosts, but just a long hard climb. Just the feeling of getting to the top of the mountain, after so many have tried and failed and only you make it up. Eric, I bet hat's a feeling that's worth more than 10 Evoc Bags....

When I first got into the sport I was obsessed with dropping off of stuff. Then, one day I went with a buddy who rode trials to a boulder that I loved to drop and he changed the world for me. He took an old beater nishiki and hopped up the boulder one piece at a time. Other skill sets may look more flashy to the untrained eye, but the ability to master a technical climb is awe inspiring to those who no what they are seeing.

If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it. M.Jordan

There once was a Little Train Engine. As the train was delivering all it carried, it faced a tall hill. The Little Engine's friends all tried to climb the hill in the past, but they failed. This Little Engine decided, "I think I can!" And so he trudged up the hill "I think I can, I think I can!" Finally, he made it to the top of the hill. That Little Engine could!
