dirt that is att least dirt sometimes, when its not mud. We just get dust or mud! I reckon every country has it's goods and bads for riding - but Canada just happens to have more goods than the rest!
haha
well its just western canada, mainly BC and Alberta. I live in Ontario (hopefully not for long) and its a different story over here. Too far to drive to BC and to pricey to fly or take a train down there. At least it doesn't rain too much. And at least there are a couple "bike parks" - make do with what you have
Also don't forget that western Canada is up to its neck in snow for at least 6 months of the year, and yes skiing is pretty sweet but I'd rather be riding my bike year round.
Mis-Chief, why not save for a few months and convince some riding mates to go on a week long trip with you to BC/Alberta? Once you get there, you can arrange budget accommodation etc.
mickeywillis: in the interior of bc at sea level it snows from Nov-feb. not that much though (pending where you live). here on the island, maybe 5inches of snow every year? you guys who want to live in bc, go to the coast
@robc10. I think you are being a little unfair on England, we do sometimes get overcast cloudy days when we are lucky. UK does suck! Time can't move quick enough till I move to Squamish BC in November 2013!
Yo there! at least europe, usa & canada got chair lift/ gondola/ cable car in your bike park and riding place, no matter either its rain or dry.. we here wasting 80% of our life pushing up bikes to get some ride...and, merely NO BIKE PARK!!
All i was saying was one of my experiences, good weather when set off to the place, got out of the car and rode to the top where i was met with heavy rain, bitterly cold wind and fog
Silvia shots are just amazing, such a pity that quality (colors) of videos are so bad, blurred... If it is some filter, please don't use it! But good job...
The Sun Peaks trail crew has put a tonne of work into the tracks this year making the already awesome tracks even more awesome. Not only the DH/Freeride stuff but also the AM/XC as well. A lot of the "ride up - ride down" trails have new wood work and have been patched up into masterpiece like conditions. They are also building a pump track and hosting a BC Cup Race! I am so stoked for the chairs to start moving. The best part of all... Sweet locals, Great Service, No lines, Cheap Beers, Good Times!
Dudes, Come to Vancouver Island, you can ride year round, ski in winter, golf year round, surf year round, scuba dive year round, and not far from at least one Whistler trip every season!
Depending where in Canada you live. I know here in the middle of Alberta it can snow, and had snowed every month of the year except August. Usually late April it gets warm and melts all the snow. Than usually May long we get a good foot of snow that lasts till June usually. Riding season in Alberta and B.C. usually is only from the end of June till September depending where you live... On the plus side gives people a long time to save up for a good long bike trip
