I'm not super familiar with this race - how prestigious is it/how big of a deal is it to podium at an event like this? All the talented riders are there but are they gunning 100% for the W or is this a good way to stay sharp?
It is a Pro GRT, which means there are more than locals going for points, it is a stepping stone to doing World Cups, it is the US series to prepare for WC's. So the top guys don't really care about the points and don't make it to all of them, but they certainly aren't happy with 2nd. So to answer your question the talent is there and it is fierce, but they probably won't hang it all out there like they would for a WC, but still hella fast!
Thanks to all the PRO's for visiting the NW!!!
Hart won pro gtr last year and now hes world champ, id love to see steve be champion. It make for more exciting racing with all the "younger" riders coming through.
It's amazing dude. When I started racing dry hill 12 years ago, if 30 guys showed up, it was a good turnout. Now it's more like 500 riders, and 100 deep pro. Times have changed for sure.
i think that greg minnaar came 5 seconds back cos he was still sitting in the gate spitting his dummy out over having a plate no. as high as 61 and didnt realise that the timer had gone for his run to start....... lol hahahaha
steve smith is a canadian. he lives in Nanaimo. Maybe the kid has a dual citizenship, but I have ridden w/ him up north, and as I recall...he's a canuck.
what I mean is that "americans" are all of us being born in the american continent, not only the ones born in the USA. I know Stevie is from Nanaimo, one of the most beautiful places in the planet, have been there and ridden there my xc bike.
I know what you meant. The continent of North America. However, I was referring to the country of America. As in, U.S. of A.
At least Jill took one home for us, and the duo of BET/Jerry were there to rock the flag as never before! USA! USA!
And sponsel, don't you respond with the 'We did that first BS, I am already on the kill list and don't care. Yes, you, haderer and Looch started the whole USA cheer section thing. But that doesn't mean Brian, Jerry and their ghetto blasters can't keep the tradition alive.
I had heard he was possibly riding something smaller then the wilson. Can't tell from the picture. I know its a
Devinci, I'm not a dumbass, give me some credit will yah!
