Is that a train or a bike? He's on rails. Pretty sweet.

That video actually wants to make me quit dh riding to do 4x. How much does a good setup cost? Anyone? Surely not dh money
  • + 1
i would say brand new erthing probably 2000-2500 for a hardtail
  • + 1
What the hell I could get a devinci Wilson and a 3D tv for that much
  • + 1
I have the same set up as him and it was 1950 new
  • + 2
That'll be $2000 not GBP. I got my rig set up for just under £1000, but I went for expensive components. You can get a HT that'd do for racing for £500 no worries.

Yea I did think then $2000, what about an identiti krisis or the nuke proof snap? I would like to build one up but still unsure on what sort of forks are needed 100mm fox 32's or what I'm lost in the world of 4x

Krisis or Snap are perfect frames for 4x. As are things like a Transition Bank or Dartmoor Phantom. Fork wise, I run 100mm Reba's, as do quite a lot of others, or like you say Fox 32s (you see quite a few sets of 831s but they're expensive). Some run DJ forks, anything short travel will do Smile

Thanks tuftii I've seen a pair of kashima forks a krisis frame but then as far as wheels go I don't know, more questions as to what gear is used i.e cassettes, what tooth chainrings, chains, mechs, brakes, cranks, naturally the lighter the better but what is good? Coming from dh everything has to be bullet proof and preferably light

Ultegra 11-25 cassette, whatever 36t ring is on sale, KMC X10 chain, Zee derailleur, SLX brakes and cranks. All are nearly as light and function the same as top level components and won't break the bank so you can invest in a good fork and wheelset.

BTW does anyone know where this track is?
