Sun Peaks Resort - Trail Update for Early June

The Sun Peaks Bike Park trail crew has been hard at working clearing the Winter mess off of the trails. Most of our crew is returning from last year so they were able to get right off to work on some of our best trails. We walked up Behind Bars which has typically been a fairly slow and technical advanced run. Well not anymore, Behind bars has been reworked and has new lines in it to make it a great DH alternative to Steam Shovel. Now you can ride Ain’t No Scrubs into Repeat Offender, drop into Creeper and then onto Behind Bars for some raw rooty DH action. We were loving the look of the exposed roots and can't wait to get up there and shred. The step down in Behind Bars that was always a bit of a reach has a new run in, allowing for more speed to make the transition.


We continued up to Steam Shovel which has been reworked and buffed. Steam Shovel is one of the best jump trails around and with the addition of more flow this year it’s going to be even better. All the jumps are ready to rip on opening day.



At the bottom of Steam Shovel is our Flow Zone, built by the now infamous Brad Stewart! It is one of the best dirt jumping zones on the planet. Brad builds big and flowy and this place is no exception, after a few years of high snow pack it has been a struggle to have the Flow Zone open on time, but this year the it will be open for day one in the park, June 29th.
