We are very excited and proud to announce that The Coastal Crew have partnered up with Specialized. For all three of us, this is a dream come true. To have Specialized believe in our efforts has huge meaning to us, and we feel very fortunate to be able to work with a company that is so enthusiastic about everything we do. For us riding bikes always comes first, and Specialized is going to help us maximize our potential through all of our adventures in the mountain bike world.

We’ve been equipped with the best variety of bikes and equipment to suit all of our needs. For the 2012 season we will be riding the Demo, Stumpy EVO, and SX. We will even be giving the Stumpy EVO 29’er a go. We’re stoked to be using the Dissident helmet, Specialized tires, and new customized pedals.

Recently we did a fresh rebuild on our backyard jumps to beef them up and add more lines. It gave us a great opportunity to get used to our new Demos. This is just the beginning of another action packed season. Between various video projects and more traveling, we will be back on pace producing another feature film through out the year – stay tuned and look forward to more from us!

 Darren Barrecloth and Matt Hunter seem to have done well by Specialized. It says something about a company when top class athletes stick with them and the company sticks with the athletes. Love the riding and hope this works out well for them.

 For those wondering, the song is Radiohead - Everything in its right place - Refracture remix... had it sitting in my song bank to use on my next edit dammit! Safe to say The Coastal crew have done a better job with it hah. Awesome to see them on specialized, There are few other companies out there that can offer such support for athletes.

 Now we know why they were selling the voltage fr's on nsmb.. I think the voltage fr suited these guys alot better than the demo's. The demo 8 is more dh, and voltage is like a playful fr/jump bike.

 I saw them riding there gamblers more then there Voltage so i think the Demo will be good, and if they want something smaller there's the SX trail and also the SX so I think they will be fine. Stoked for them!

 No I'm pretty sure they still make em, (SX Trails) but only one model. Frames still the same, then of course ya they do have the SX for more slope and DJ stuff. I really want to see them on a custom SX Trail!!!

Curtis , kyle and Dylan have been on scott bike for so many years .... now they ride Demo ( an amazing bike for sure ) , we have to adapt ^^


It remembers me when the Atherton family go to GT ... everybody was like : " NO don't do that ... you have to stay with Commençal "
We associate certain brands with riders and we are shocked when they change Big Grin

But when i see Curtis's orange Demo and all the tricks they do on their ( amazing ) backyard ... i love The coastal crew on Spécialized bikes Wink

 I'm kind of disappointed to be honest, never have cared for the demo's or any other spec I've ridden. they always seem like well built bikes (apart from the old sx trails flexy a**end), but just lack the fun of other companies. perhaps it's just me but I would have liked to see CC stay on scott or some other company.

 They could put these guys on kid's tricycles and they would still pin it to hell and back. I don't think their sponsor matters that much, because Coastal Crew videos will be epic no matter what. I'm not a huge fan of the big S, but if the riders are getting a better deal or better pay for what they love to do, more power to them.

 Mmoom would by specialized from stupid reason but his choice would be very good because these bike are awesome.
I have old demo and all the time everything is all right not like in bikes of my friends.
My friends have bikes from different companies and all the time something go wrong.
If damper will not explode then frame gets clearances or something like that.
That’s why my next bike probably will be DEMO too.

 @Bogumil1202247 specialized doesn't make the parts they just make the frame (and I bet they make amazing frames), but if parts are braking on your friends bike and not yours it's probably because your friends have cheap parts, or are total hacks.

My DEMO was cheaper then Mondrakers or KONAs of my friends but it always was working much better and was fault-free.
Specialized fames are so good because guys from specialized know hat to do.
Geometry of frame is very good the same like welds also suspension is very, very cleaver.
Everywhere are rolling bearings and in only one place is sliding sleeve and there is almost no move.
That’s why suspension don’t get clearances and thanks for cleaver suspension frames are very good in turns and berms.
Only bad thing what I don’t like in some of new DEMO’s is ugly painting.
Black and red is all right but red and yellow looks like frame from MC Donald.

 There "big guys" because they make amazing products and put countless hours into developing their bikes and other things. They are not some giant huge corprate company taking over "good" guys to simply make a profit. There an amazing company helping out stunning riders/ film makers. Seems a no brainer to me.

 @drinkmilk54 - I can back you up completely... I took a shot at a job position with Scott USA a while back and did a ton of research on them, and they have MASSIVE road bike and snow markets, especially in other countries.
Heck, 3 of my goggle sets are from them, and not just for MTB...

These guys will do great no matter what, and they moved from one great company to another!

 togood- one of my buddies joined Scott for skiing and he's been saying the same thing which shouldn't come as a surprise but it's def. not what you think when you only see their bike products. But yeah to say big is bad is hardly true especially with Scott or, I'm assuming, with Specialized as well.
