my mom says you guys should all like stevie because he's Canadian
  • + 24
Made in Canada... Bike plus Rider.. Way to go!!!!!
  • - 5
^the bike is just designed in Canada (unfortunately).
Great combo anyways!
  • + 2
 GO CANADA GO!
  • + 6
Kanasasa they still make frame in Chicoutimi, QC
  • + 8
Pretty sure the carbon ones are Asian, still great bikes! Just the "high end" aluminum stuff is done in QC still.
  • + 3
Ya go stevie! the carbon stuff is made in asia but aluminum is made in canadaSmile
  • + 6
 CANADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa

@kanassa: not even sure it's even designed in Canada. Unless Weagle designed it during his holidays? Wink
  • + 1
Having “Made in Canada” stamped on a frame is driving factor at Devinci

Today Devinci’s creative engine revs under one roof. Raw materials, including aluminum and carbon, arrive at one end and complete bikes are rolled out the other. Every process from design and fabrication to machining, heat–treating, fatigue-testing, and final assembly all take place in-house. This includes a state-of-the-art on–bike testing system, which measures every stress and strain in real life situations. Changes to a particular design can be prototyped, tested, tweaked, and re–tested in days rather than weeks.

GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!! (sorry to steal your glory)
  • + 4
A bike made in Andorra wins in Andorra. Makes sense a Canadian bike should win Mt St. Anne! Haha. Go Stevie!
  • + 1
@lavoiespeed: are your carbon frames made in Canada? By the way do you plan to make an xl version for people above 1.80m?

@mattdawg: commençal bikes are just based in Andorra, directed by french guys, french engineers and a team of french riders on bikes made in Taïwan (i can recheck that on ly frame). Very Andorran!

HARRY HEATH!!!!!!! Curious to see where Gwinnie ends up.
  • + 41
 not on podium
  • - 27
I saw him at 22nd down there but race day. I hope he sucks cuz Trek fan....
  • + 1
If I were a betting man, thats where my money would be.
  • + 12
im rooting for Heath too. privateer showing these uptowners who's boss.
  • + 27
 Its all about Stevie Smith!!
  • + 6
How come Harry Heath is not in a team? Does he prefer to race as a privateer? Because with his speed, getting into a team of some sort wouldn't be difficult
  • + 1
Yeah Stevie! This oughta be an interesting race, with the team being as "dumbed down" as it is.
  • + 14
Who knows what Gwin will do. He NEVER pushes on training day. He does however have the fastest speed on the chart at 57.8 so you know he is stopping or slowing down a lot during training.
  • + 3
harry was on a team last year but this year he chose to do things differently and its ovbiously working out for him hope he smokes it and good to see danny hart there too!
  • + 3
He felt more comfortable being without a team easier and stuff i think so he changed from a team to priviteer
  • + 4
Looking at the speed is interesting... Gwin isn't fastest. He's behind Minnaar at 59.7, Mik 59, and Sam Hill who are all down the list and clearly not going 100% for the whole track. That being said, hard not to like Stevie for this one.
  • + 3
 SO, what about Gee Atherton
  • + 1
@dhx42 I didn't scroll down that far, oops. I do think this is a good track for Minnaar, Hill, Mik Hannah and Gwin...and of course Gee. Not leaving Stevie out either. It's the big boys who train hard, can carry tremendous speed, and have some weight behind them for downhill speed. I doubt little riders with less body mass will be able to compete on these now wide open motorway type sections. The track seems like flat out easy bombing sections followed by tech gnar in the woods. Judging by Caludios track preview you have to switch gears quickly. Could see some punctures where guys enter those tech sections too fast.
  • + 2
All I can say is good work Brosnan!

For the record Gwinn, like many, has never put much emphasis on his timed practice runs. He was usually down on the list even when he was crushing everyone. It means nothing for anyone till qualifying results. So the hoopla is pointless.
  • + 32
For the record, Gwin does put emphasis on how his name is spelt though.
  • + 6
For the record we should all be talking about the other riders too instead of talking bout gwin nonstop. I like the guy, I'd like to see him win again at least once this season, but sheesh...
  • + 2
^nice one! ^ I agree with cthorpe though, don't get your panties in a bunch until qualifying!
  • + 1
 LOL soo true!
  • + 1
 Gwinnnnnnnnnnnñ.
  • + 1
I hope he makes top 5 at least ! Come on Gwin gotta get one this year! But worlds would be even better! Even tho its on a pedaly track, an there are heavy pedalers out there, it would be so sweeet! But, yes would be awesome to for stevie to win , have high hopes for him, exspecialy for crankworx!!!!!!
[Reply]
  • + 21
Yeah Stevie! Time for a win

Go Troy, the No.1 now at Specialized Smile
  • + 9
I think theres only me and you that like troy watch this space he will be the next number 1 .. Not alot of people are picking up on this guy but hes deffinatly climbing the table ...............
  • + 4
I think it's no surprise or secret to anyone that Troy is gonna be a major force in the next few years, and even this year yet...
  • + 5
 Another Troy fan here!
  • - 3
Then he will have to switch teams as I have been told numerous occasions on this site that the Demo is a POS.
  • - 2
Troy was the no. 1 at specialized when Hill was there too...
  • + 2
Troy fan here as well .
  • + 0
@mallet21 like you know what your talking about. Another internet armchair engineer/troll who never rode one.
  • + 1
Yeah troy deffinetly leadin the specialized team this year,i think next year will be the year to watch out for him!
  • + 2
 *sigh*

Jaydawg, mallet was being facetious and pointing out the idiocy of the people here who say it's the demo's fault that Gwin is doing so bad.

Or in simple speak. He wasn't saying the demo is a POS, he was mocking those who do.

Why do people get so worked up over timed training?
[Reply]
  • + 10
I'd love Remi Thirion to dominate the rest of the season...
  • + 0
I wonder if they can sustain the manpower and cost to keep doing all the analyzing. I know winning is everything, but at what cost?
[Reply]
  • + 7
you know timed training isn't serious when Hill is 81st, SikMik is 87th, Bulldog in 95th and Brendog in 97th
[Reply]
  • + 6
Becky Gardner, so excited to see your name up on this list!!!!!!!!!! Good luck! Show them what east coast riders are made of!
  • + 1
 Yeah!!! Beacon Bombers!!!
[Reply]
  • + 5
Stevie claiming win number 2 would be ace, but I think Gee will be even more on it than usual after Valnorrd and the unfinished business he has with this track after that monster crash last year. Should be a good race!
[Reply]
  • + 8
Rachael Atherton? Or do I need to go to specsavers?
  • + 1
Yeah, I am confused as well....ANYONE??
  • + 1
 also confused. she not racing?
  • + 3
Some people choose not to do a timed training run, it's not compulsory.
  • + 3
She was doing practice runs today so guess she just didn't want to do the timed run but looks like she's definitely racing!
  • + 1
Thanks dirtydee, I was worried for a bit there. Whew.
[Reply]
  • + 8
Come on Stevie! Canada is rooting for you!
[Reply]
  • + 6
So Fuckin amped for this race!!
[Reply]
  • + 3
Timed training = session some lines, get a feel for the track, get the bike feeling good, save legs for race day. The above mean next to nothing.
[Reply]
  • + 5
Hope Connor Fearon can stay in that top 15, and Troy grabs another podium
[Reply]
  • + 6

  • + 24
To build up the stoke for the main event.
  • + 5
 i would prefer stoke-inducing photos...
  • + 5

Gwin how?????? Specialized are already building him a new Session ups i mean a Demo so he can go fast again!
Everybody rides Specialized, I'm not everybody!!! ;-)
[Reply]
  • + 1
I'm usually rooting for Gwin but I think Stevie has this one. He's like a cheetah on two wheels and he's been extremely consistent this year. Look for him on the top step on Sunday.
[Reply]
  • + 3
 yeah sangers! make ontario proud!
[Reply]
  • + 1
These runs are just a regular practice run. They put the timer on to make sure eveyone's transponders are working. You can race the clock or not - riders choice.
[Reply]
  • + 3
C'mon Stevie!!! Win it for Canada!
[Reply]
  • + 3
timed practise has no correlation to final results

  • + 13
Since timed training means so much. *yawn* Lets see what the quails say....
  • + 7
Yeah and Sam hill in 81st and Minnaar down in the sixties. It definitely seems like this timed training is an accurate indicator of pace...Jesus wept.
  • + 1
