Troy has proven time and time again how and why he is one of the worlds fastest riders, I had a chance to film with him earlier this year for a full length film I did, after him unfortunately injuring himself, I wanted to release just the rider section to pay some homage to one of Australia's best.
Once Troy is healed, his biggest obstacle he will face like every other rider who has had a serious injury will be the psychological aspect of building his confidence. Just look at a text book example of Sam Hill, it took him over a year to start to regain confidence to ride at his previous level and even that is a work in progress.
I really like Troy, he has a wonderful career ahead of him but it will take a couple of years before his becomes a Major threat to the current podiums. Sam is definitely getting there and so will Troy.
I call bullcrap on your first paragraph, hes still young and heals fast, and I don't think he went through anything very traumatic. I'll bet he cant wait to haul ass again by World's and go for some redemption.
I look forward to the future battles for years to come that he and Danny Hart will have, fighting for 2nd place behind the Gwinner.
Every rider is different. Hopefully he will be back on top by the end of the season. Look at Gee, he has had a lot of injuries on and off for the past season and has stayed on the podium this year.
this is a proffessional rider your talking about... someone who has a lot of support through his sponsers and so forth, and no doupt troy has hurt himself before, and look where he is now, it wont be long before he is shredding again.
You have to remember that there is a massive difference between hauling ass, and world cup race speed. Sam hill would have been so fast when he got back on the DH bike, but getting up to that world cup level of riding takes time.
It all depends on his psychological state and if he's mentally strong. It has nothing to do with how young or fast he is just how he approaches it and over comes it.
Going by what I have seen of him in interviews I don't think this will knock him much at all. Very positive kid , allways smiling , plus being young he will recover fast ( i hope ).
Hey Troy if you are reading posts, get well soon! world cup is not the same without you! I really thought this was your year to shine even brighter than last year. Can't wait to see you back at the start gate whenever that is.
makes me wont to head over to adilade even more and ride some of the trails up in the hills!! shred on troy! cant wait for you to get back into the world cup buddy
Boxxer world cup, DT swiss wheels, Renthal bar and stem, demo 8 frame. The team is sponsored by SRAM soo he probably has avid brakes and some sort of SRAM/truvativ cranks and BB. Theres a little bit of spec...
Only one way to solve that, get a shovel and help bloody dig!
Eagle park was good enough for nationals, and we're fixing up windy right and left, and so long as the council funding remains, looking at new downhill trails in Lynton.
