 Yeah,exactly what i thought
  • 7 0
 Bring it on Jailbreak
  • 16 0
No way the government would allow that, they might actually have to do work...
  • 6 0
In my opinion should be the Lisbon Downtown where it all started Wink
  • 3 1
 IBIZA URBAN DOWNHILL!!!
  • 3 0
No matter where it is this is awesome..should be great for the sport
  • 3 0
 Sim tem de ser Lisboa!!!
  • 2 0
 Lisbon or Budapest.

Lisbon for the obvious reason (Downtown Lisboa), and in Budapest they could do an awesome race down the hill, starting at the Buda Castle

What about one here in San Francisco?
  • 1 0
Does anyone know about the rotating gopole mount strapped to the helmet?
  • 1 0
 SAN FRANCISCO
  • 1 0
I bet it is going to be in Taxco!
  • 20 1
Only mens category? Not that it means much to me personally but if you want women in the sport, what's the harm in just offering a female class? Oh and my guess, San Francisco?
  • 12 1
San Fran or Seattle, either could make a great race. Start in the hills above town and race to the bay.
  • 7 0
Quite a lot of that going on in Seattle under the radar currently Smile
  • 12 0
I can't speak for San Fran, but in seattle there would need to be a lot of stuff build to make it more exciting. There still could be an epic race and I would head down there to watch it but western urban planning takes away some of the fun from these things. Thats why south american cities are super fun to watch.
  • 5 1
morgantown, wv - drunk college kids and some of the steepest streets i've seen in the US
  • 3 0
 women can race in Santos
  • 1 0
Taxco in Mexico?? Big Grin please
  • 9 0
The US wont ever allow this stuff without a billion dollar insurance policy.........just think how bent they get when skateboarders ding up a parking curb, wall ride on walls and drop huge stair gaps. i got arrested for riding my skate on a sidewalk. I would love to see it here but i doubt it will happen.......but id give it a run if they did!

Thanks Absolutely right and mentality is fuck here look in Bike park at Keystone how gwt fuck up because is own old fat people who deciding put money into it 12 years now ,sad thinks it was the sickest bike park long time ago

Totally agree. Liability, and the power of the people... to write letters and complain that their sunday morning walk was "disturbed" and demand something be done. Even if 99% of the people have fun, it only takes 1% to send a letter or complain... and believe me, they will.
  • 11 0
 25 - 26 Octuber Down Taxco, México.
  • 9 0
Men's only category?....granted I can't see many women entering but surely just make it an open category, writing men's only is going to ruffle a few feathers
  • 4 1
And this from the people who want women entering the sport. I'm a 17 year old boy and I'm not impressed, that ain't a good sign.

Down Taxco has to be in the calendar, after Libon urban DH Taxco was the second in the world to take place and it has been going since 2003. Saludos
  • 9 0
Get back to edinburgh for the street DH loads of long runs with gaps and drops
  • 5 0
Well, the course of Valparaíso is long, fast, 15% dirt, full of jumps, wallrides, and over 2.30 minutes long.
On the other side santos are just stairs, stairs and more stairs, so boring to watch, and is only 1 minute long.
  • 4 0
Agreed, could have hosted something much better here in Rio de Janeiro! Case in point Red Bull Desafio no Morro www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SbDNkSKl8w

We even have a state urban DH series!
  • 1 1
Organization of DHU santos is planing to make a forest part of the stairs. You shure never rode in Santos stairs and dont know what a rush os that one minute long race. Chile race have amazing jumps but some parts looks realy boring like stairs that beraly fits a handlebar
  • 5 0
Great to see Valparaiso Cerro Abajo on the list.
Here is a small edit I did last year. Enjoy.

Hell, I'd just like to see a SoCal city support or affirm an enduro or Free ride trail. Having them accept a Urban DH race would be like convincing our politicians that there is life in space other than us?

Redbull races are a closely contained and regulated event with a great deal of background contractual liability releases being negotiated with local city governments to mitigate liability off the community elected officials and onto the sponsors. Lawyers run America

The city downhill is soo awesome but seems so much more dangerous than mountain downhill. No room for error and there is no option to go around some of the sketchy obstacles. You need to be an awesome all rounded rider to do it i think but i still love watching it.
  • 5 0
I am going to be imparcial here, but I think Taxco Mex must be another venue

SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER must be the LISBON DOWNTOWN!!!!!!
  • 2 0
Reminds me of the old red bull mine race, gold mine was it? Should be awesome though! Downhill domination anybody?
  • 2 2
Why do they all wear goggles? Isn't that for eye protection from dirt/mud? Not much of that I would guess in city streets, unless perhaps nails, needles, condoms, etc. flying up
  • 9 0
Go really fast without goggles can make your eyes water, and dirt/rocks/bugs are still there on urban DH courses
  • 1 6
flag GlassGuy (Jan 22, 2014 at 9:30) (Below Threshold)
True...I get the "going fast" and water eye thing...didn't think they were really doing those kinds of speeds in those compact arenas.
  • 9 0
If you slam hard on your face, at least you've got something to help shield your eyes that won't fly off like sunglasses. Not to mention, they help cut down the glare from going in and out of sun/shade.

Awesome! Not a race sched in the US :,(
  • 2 2
Do you really think the us would ever let something like this happen in the streets?
  • 5 1
No, but we can hope. Seattle or San Francisco would make great races..
  • 3 1
 San Francisco would be insane!
  • 6 3
The fun police would shut it down in heartbeat. The pussification of America.
  • 2 2
US cities are to organized in layout to offer an interesting track I would of thought ?
  • 3 7
flag prestonDH (Jan 22, 2014 at 10:49) (Below Threshold)
Actually yea the US would. They have plenty of Red Bull events around the US, why not a DH race? If you really think they wouldn't give a legit reason, not some stupid immature baseless comment like Dorinfarley or RatHunter83.... Seattle and San Francisco would be 2 great places to start
  • 4 2
Hey preston it wouldn't happen here because of liability crap.

Let's say hypotheticaly a DH race does happen in San Francisco. Let's also say someone wrecks so bad it damages public or even private property. Who's gonna pay for that? The guy who dumps? No. The city? No. Someones gonna be shit outta luck and very pissed off.
  • 4 5
It would cost too much to shut the streets down... They did it for Batboy though so maybe someone just needs to get cancer and make a wish.
  • 5 1
No one needs to get cancer bro
  • 4 1
And Preston. I don't need a base for a comment it's just what I would think would happen. No need to bash me or hunter for it
  • 1 1
Sorry bro forgot cancer jokes weren't funny.

flag prestonDH (Jan 22, 2014 at 19:30) (Below Threshold)
no need for your sarcastic comments dorinfarley. And you cant use liability rathunter, did you not just read about all the red bull races and events in cities around the US. Plus if you dont like the US then go somewhere else, I am sure no one will miss you.
  • 6 0
Who said I was being sarcastic?
  • 1 0
There's a reason why the Baja 500 and 1000 allow racers to start in the downtown streets and race down the city wash complete with a Red Bull jump. Meanwhile in the U.S., the majority of the races take place in remote wastelands like Primm, Jean, and Batstow where we are too far away to interfere with civilization. (Parker 425 start is an exception)
  • 1 0
If you made it lucrative for San Francisco or the state, California could not afford to say no. Someone say with deep pockets like RedBull. They've already shut down the city for Ken Block to run black tire tracks all throughout the city. It would need a ton of support too. Not entirely impossible.
  • 1 0
September/October race might will be Walterise Urban X Games at Sarajevo Smile
