Andreu Lacondeguy is back from his trip to Australia and New Zealand. As a little souvenir for his fans, he returned with a 6-minute video documenting his exciting riding adventures from down under.

When UNIT asked Andreu if he wanted to come and visit the Australian Gold Coast and head to New Zealand to ride mountain bikes, FMX and BMX at the UNIT Farm Jam, he jumped right on it and started to plan the trip. It was a unique occasion to visit southern New Zealand and shred his YT bikes, Dirt Love and Tues in the picturesque mountains surrounding the town of Queenstown.

UNIT Farm Jam took place in a breathtaking location two hours away from Queenstown. For the first time, the event hosted freeride motocross. A set of five natural terrain jumps were built on a hill and Andreu found himself hitting 140 foot jumps on a borrowed motorbike. The vibe was buzzing and with riders coming from all over the world, there was no excuse not to ride hard.

Staying in Queenstown for 10 days was another new experience for Andreu: the small town, which resembles the Canadian resort of Whistler, has a lot to offer. From riding fast trails at the Skyline Bike Park and big downhill jumps in the Wynyard area, as well as access to some of the best-shaped dirt jumps in the world. All of this within a five minute drive. At the end of it all, the conclusion was simple: “we must come back for a longer time.” Documenting all the trip action and antics from behind the camera was Nick Pescetto.

Without a doubt one of the best riders to watch, ever. So stylish, so aggressive and yet so smooth.

"Everything he touches turnes to gold"
Everyone Ever.

And this is why he is, by far, my favourite rider of all time...

Just a quick question, what dose that marzocchi sticker doing for the cane creek db , adds plushness? Wink
  • - 6
Mz sticker is threr because it is their proto shock. It has ben given to andreu for testing.
  • + 11
No, it's a CCDB because this frame needs a 267mm shock and marzocchi doesn't have a 267mm shock in their lineup. simple.

prototype being the operative word, the pre fixed word may have some thing to do with length maybe.......

 Human wrecking ball!! Simply awesome!!

He should make the move to BOS. Better suspension and stock on the TUES. It would make sense.

one of my favorite riders for sure, best vid on pb!!!!

anyone know how to buy a YT bike and get it to australia?? zee germans say they wont ship it here!!!! Frown
  • + 1
Mark Webb of the mtb world, full of tats and a crazy rider
  • + 1
@thenos09: maybe you could try doing it using a parcel forwarding service such as bongous.com or something of that kind. then they would officially deliver the bike to germany and then send it forward to australia. or you try to find someone from germany who helps you out and does more or less the same thing (buying and forwarding the bike)
  • + 2
@thenos09 - If you are SERIOUS about getting a YT I'd gladly help you out.
Shipping and import taxes (don't know your rules in Australia) might end up making it too expensive though.

I don't know why but I like videos that are filmed this way (like this one) much more than the majority of others that are smooth, with calm\electronic music that, to say honest, makes me asleep. On other hand, this video looks a bit rough, hardcore, with big riding and explosive music (it reminds me some oldschool movies) that makes me so stoked to ride. Really inspires.
  • + 5
Agree totally. The raw feel makes it feel more like how biking really is. And not once did I even suspect any footage was sped up... (no need to really)... can't say that about a lot of other edits coming out lately.
  • + 6
 metal makes you faster
  • + 3
Agreed. No berm-busting slo-mo garbage. (Lookin' at you Schusler)

It's almost as badass as this Chris Kovarik video: www.pinkbike.com/video/285187

Holy crap that DH section looked like he was riding the trail waaay faster than it was intended for (triple, scrub, scrub, triple, roost...)
  • + 1
Did it look to you like he had the bike set up super firm? No critique. Just an observation. Voreis' vids always look this way to me too. Perhaps Mach 10 riding like this requires you stay high in the travel. Somethin' I'll never experience! Smile

That was sick, as usual with Andreu. Also, he looks in a lot better shape than the last years, and if it's on purpose to try and challenge on the FMB world tour that would be sick, there's no rider out there who shreds as hard as Andreu does, would be great to see him challenge Semenuk's precission riding being that he's the absolute oposite: balls out no brakes if possible.
