Andreu Lacondeguy is back from his trip to Australia and New Zealand. As a little souvenir for his fans, he returned with a 6-minute video documenting his exciting riding adventures from down under.
When UNIT asked Andreu if he wanted to come and visit the Australian Gold Coast and head to New Zealand to ride mountain bikes, FMX and BMX at the UNIT Farm Jam, he jumped right on it and started to plan the trip. It was a unique occasion to visit southern New Zealand and shred his YT bikes, Dirt Love and Tues in the picturesque mountains surrounding the town of Queenstown.
UNIT Farm Jam took place in a breathtaking location two hours away from Queenstown. For the first time, the event hosted freeride motocross. A set of five natural terrain jumps were built on a hill and Andreu found himself hitting 140 foot jumps on a borrowed motorbike. The vibe was buzzing and with riders coming from all over the world, there was no excuse not to ride hard.
Staying in Queenstown for 10 days was another new experience for Andreu: the small town, which resembles the Canadian resort of Whistler, has a lot to offer. From riding fast trails at the Skyline Bike Park and big downhill jumps in the Wynyard area, as well as access to some of the best-shaped dirt jumps in the world. All of this within a five minute drive. At the end of it all, the conclusion was simple: “we must come back for a longer time.” Documenting all the trip action and antics from behind the camera was Nick Pescetto.
Everyone Ever.
And this is why he is, by far, my favourite rider of all time...
Shipping and import taxes (don't know your rules in Australia) might end up making it too expensive though.
