Does anyone know the current standings situation? I know its close at the top, what I mean is for example if Stevie Smith comes first then what position must Gee finish in to win overall? Will Gee win overall as long as he finishes ahead of Stevie? Could anyone else nick it? Am I making sense??
Leogang. I think those standings above are the overall UCI rankings and include the World Champs, so not just the World cup. I can't seem to find an up to date World cup overall anywhere though. I think it's 200 for a win and 50 for 1st in qualifying.
Those rankings include other races too. There has only been 4 World Cups so far this year, with a maximum of 250 points available per round which means the most anyone could have at this stage of the season is 1000pts. So there is no way Gee can be on 1399pts from the World Cup alone.
Dingus posted the World Cup standings and AdamChed posted the UCI overall rankings. Two separate creatures altogether.
At this stage of the season (and considering Gee won quali's today for max points), Smith has the only realistic shot at overtaking Gee for the WC title. Sunday's results will tell us if it goes down to the wire at the last race at Leogang.
UCI please pay attention. Nobody appreciates South Africa!! (except maybe Minnar). It isn't a 2013 World Cup DH worthy course. It is behind a shopping center, no lift, no resort, not much tech, just big jumps.
Most racers actually don't like it for WC/DH. Several racers in this video alone refer to it as not being a proper DH course. Read all the blogs, mags, etc. leading up to it. Most racers do not consider it a proper WC/DH course. I am all about variety and fast tracks. Is it fast and probably fun to ride? Sure. But the venue is garbage. It literally is behind a strip mall, not resort or lodging, or lift. The truck ride up is thru slums that look like they came out of a National Geographic mag, and there have to be armed guards to protect the place. It is a crap hole.
check that vid clearly hannah took all advantage of this gap while other here seem to strugle with cases...

Surely PinkBike would give them credit if that was true
