I dont know whether to be stoked or depressed. Stoked that somebody this young can shred like this, or depressed because somebody this young is better than me.
Last summer i saw this kid riding the air dome and it was ridicules watching him do bigger tricks then me into the foam pit so stoked to see him progressing even more.
he is going to be so good at heel clickers in the future!
Great point, family support can go a huge way in turning a pretty normal kid into such a little ripper like him! Going to hear his name alot more in the future i bet
helps when his dad runs whistler. kid has some serious skills but a huge advantage over most kids his age, unlimited access to the world's best bike playground. probably get neg propped for pointing it out though, but it's the truth. he's not just some random kid

i agree, anyone can be great at mountain biking and skiing if you live in whistler let alone if you dad runs the flipping place! There are also many other slighty older shredders as well
It does help to have that access for sure, but anyone who has spent time around kids knows that it is not just access to something that makes a kid good at something. A kid still needs to have the desire, attitude and physical ability to do these things. I know kids of very outgoing and active parents who would rather sit in front of a tv. Sorry fade-to-black, but not "anyone" can be great - only some. This kid is good because of a lot more than the opportunities he has been given. No denying they help, but I think it is selling him short to imply he's only good because of them.
I know. My comment was regarding fade-to-blacks comment "anyone can be great at mountain biking", I agree with your comment 100%, I only agree with fade-to-black's comment about 50%.
anyone that goes biking, or skiing. i live in hong kong and my accesses to mountain biking is about 0. but im only good because i spend all summer in whistler. if i didnt do to whistler i would struggle to make it down b line. but since i spend a majority of the biking season in whistler (lucky me!) i improve alot, i have riddin about 99% of trails in whistler. and im 13. the one problem the young kids have is that there not as strong as older kids or teens. so they find it hard to muscle there bikes around.
ive done everything but crabapple hits and clown shoes, ive not hit clown shoes because its falling apart. btw i was talking about bike park trials. ill upload some more footage of go pro if you dont believe me.
Bike park only? That's not even half of whistler then. So even if you've done 99% of the trails in the bike park, you've done less than 30% of the trails in whistler.
And those trails outside the park aren't your average Lycra wearin' trails. Kids these days... Can't pedal up a hill.
i have done cross country so i know how gnarly it is. i want to do more of it but as bikes are very expensive i only get one for the type i enjoy most.
Watching lil' shredders line Finn and Jackson just make you feel bad about skill of riding. Like many of us are still better but they are so close behind!
Finn rips and is even more amazing to watch in person. I was part of the Deep Summer Photo team he was on at this year's Crankworx and I was blown away at how keen he was to shoot. Never complained once about having to hike up to get another shot and every time he did walk back up, it looked like he was just having fun the whole time. At his age, I doubt I had the tenacity to be involved in an event like that and definitely not the ability. This kid is an amazing rider!
This is getting out of hand!!!! First Jackson, now Finn, its too much! ima just have to stop riding a bicycle to save myself the embarrassment if i were to run into these guys on the trail
If he keeps progressing as quickly as he is, he'll be going pro in a a few years. It's so cool seeing kids his age shred like that. He throws a whip down so well too!!
I watched him hit fade to black after a group of guys, two of the three of them cased the step up. He followed shortly after and showed them up BIG time. This kid is so sick!
