The track here at Mt St Anne saw a massive amount of water damage at the start of the summer due to heavy rains. bigquotesThey've tamed things down a fair bit. It's looking smooth up there, but it'll roughen up through the week. There's tons of soft stuff, seems like they pretty much took a digger down it and evened it all out so it's gonna be fast. You're gonna need a bloody good tuck on you to get down the big straights quick, so I'll be out practicing on my road bike haha. They'll be a few cases thrown off that end jump in the morning so I might have to go up and have a look at that haha!- Wyn Masters, Team Bulls

Everything's dumbed down these days: news, education, entertainment and now MSA?! Tragique mon gars.
  • 1 0
Good part of the reason its dumbed down is because the locals have not been riding it this year. It's been closed. Mother Nature did not do MSA a favor last spring.
  • 1 0
Thanks z05m. Didn't know that. There's still hope.

Truvativ does make a direct mount boxxer stem though......
  • 1 0
 That's what I thought..
  • 1 0
Was gonna say the same thing, I have one on my dh rig right now lol
  • 2 1
what stem is danny hart using? i didn't see it in the pictures.
  • 1 0
I think they removed it for some reason. It was just a steerer tube clamp type, rather than a direct mount.

Ha I saw the photo of the stem last night and its gone this morning. I was gonna post the link as well as I have the Truvvativ dm stem on my bike..
  • 1 0
Yeah, I was wondering wtf you guys were talking about. I have a truvatic dm stem too. Works just like every other dm stem... If truvativ would just make different colors, they could take over the market.
  • 2 0
I have a red one and buddy i just talked to is getting the same one but white so maybe they herd your plea's Smile

Am I the only one that finds the title offensive?
  • 5 2
No, I thought it was poor taste as well.
  • 2 1
Completely mistitled, I mean offense aside (which is highly offensive, but there is much worse out there) there is one single pic they refer to like that. Definite fail on the title, but good article. That course may be smoothed out but DAM! I would not want to take that booter to rocks

you just hasn't see what it was before.... look MSA on Facebook i think they have pictures.... it was just unrideable and closed.... We had several big storms that just tore down all the trails. The mountain opened a month an a half later because of this... also the wheater is storms thursday and saturday....
  • 1 0
Ste-anne is well known to not maintain anything, ever. If they bothered, it's probably because it became unridable this spring as guigui said. If you ever went there, you'll know that the speed you can reach in some sections is ludicrous. If it's even faster than before due to the tamer track, it's definitely going to be interesting...

Actually saw that shock thrust bearing in Mountain Bike Fiction (of all places) many years ago and wondered if anyone was using them. Apparently used in moto and seems like a good idea. Anyone tried one?
  • 2 0
Been using one for the last year. Works really well.
  • 2 0
I've been riding one for a year or so. Their readily available over here but our weather doesnt suit the maintainance they require. It does seem to work tho
  • 1 0
Anyone have a link as to where you can buy the thrust bearing kit?

Nice one, cheers buddy. Do you just sandwich that between the top of the spring and the adjustment collar and it stays in place?

yeah it stays in place fine even through morzine braking bumps!

you maybe have to wind the preload out a couple of turns but its really thin and for £4.10p its worth a go
