1 most everybody came here for the picture on the newsfeed 2 bam and rab were completely waisted but it was funny listening to them haha 3 Kelly's t-shirt is probably the sickest t-shirt ever!!!!! 4 that movie was so sick!!!!
  • + 1
For those who watched earlier on - if you noticed, Sal instructed Richie to hold it down with the drunk and disorderly while he would deal with the ladies - LOVE how later on he got stuck with Bam and "Basket Case", who later tried to make out with him hahahaha. It was almost too perfect. Best ironic foreshadowing I've ever seen.

On another note he did a great job MCing.
  • + 4
Sal was awesome and those drunk junkies were just gross....

Without a doubt THE WORST collection of photographs I have ever seen on PinkBike. I'm nauseated.

And if you are going to photog human wanna beings, at least include the respectable Dr D; Duncan Rifle.
  • + 1
Hahaha best part of that whole beginning before the show started. And can you really blame Novak for being hammered off... whatever it was that he was on? He just came outta a year stint in jail after all. Also that lady on Bam's arm is his new gf that poses nude for no money at all. Have fun google hunting! Wink haha.

Man that looked like an awesome time... wish I didn't have to bail on it Frown

Yeah I've gotta say I was pretty disappointed with the movie. Utah hucking is fun. But an entire movie of it was definitely too much. Granted they went other places but Utah, it was still the same thing. Push up a slope, ride down a slope, crash, do it again.
  • + 13
Yeah and you can say the same thing about downhill-specific movies saying that its all riding fast down trails, taking lifts or shuttles up, or with DJs saying that its nothing but going off jumps, doing a trick and landing....

You guys who were disappointed with the movie completely misinterpreted what this movie was about. Its been promoted as the first ever MTB big mountain movie to ever be made for the past 2-3 years. If you took it as anything but that, that's your own damned fault. They never presented it as anything but what it was and you just found out what kind of movies you would rather enjoy. Its no different than a park rat hating on a TGR film. Awesome that the bike community is big enough that you can watch films based specifically on what you like to watch, right?
  • + 3
xander8...that's what I just said. Sal did an awesome job.
  • + 3
 its Novak not Raab....
  • + 3
Freeriderdeluxe1231, I couldn't disagree with you more. When I watched it I was so stoked and amped to ride, and it was midnight when I finished watching! I couldn't sleep I was that pumped to ride the next day. I live in NZ and don't even have access to that kind of altitude, but I can tell you that following day out on the trails, I hit the jumps harder, and railed the berms faster than I have I a while!

Cam McCaul looks blazed out of his mind. LOL
  • + 8
 protour...... shuuuuuduuuup
  • - 15
Scott Townes would cheer if people used MTBs to murder and rape innocents, saying it's "growing the sport."
  • + 6
CAM MCCAUL Looks to be havin a ton of fun if you get my meaningWink
  • + 3
CFO- People who use fake accounts to say absurd stuff are straight up pussies... just saying.
  • - 6
I Am going to agree with protour Without a doubt THE WORST collection of photographs I have ever seen on PinkBike
  • + 2
yeah i agree with Protour as well. other than the athletes and bikes, why the random pics of ridiculous drunkards? what do they have to do with our sport? how does this reflect on mountain biking, and set an example for the youth? ok, let the neg props roll in...lol
  • + 3
I think some of the pictures are a little out there yes...but its VEGAS and a Redbull event. Don't be so serious people. On another note...EXCELLENT movie.
  • + 1
I`ve watched the trailer in our city few times at the big lcd display in our main square, so a knew its big thing this movie

 Why wasn't Tippie MCing???
  • + 7
He would've had a better go remembering names and much better knowledge of the sport. Not bashing sal, he just seemed to have a hard time with some of the interviews.
  • + 6
Why wasn't Tippie in the movie, he pioneered big mountain MTB, and I've seen him shred some gnarly shit this year that most won't do. I'd like to see some of the original guys like him and Richie getting some love.

WOW....nothing but thanks for this one....

1st, Red Bull for fronting the cash, copters, and vehicles to get these guys to where they needed to go.
2nd, the RIDERS, what a friggen amazing feat of tricks, lines, and history.
3rd, the film-makers, thanks for your vision in capturing these guys dreams and putting it all together the guys from Dolby seemed to be pretty hyped in making the cinematography and music go hand in hand....awesome!

The narration from Dan was great to bring a real humble feeling into it, talking about the routes, destinations, and hospital visits. We tend to watch lots of movies with narration only to have a "guest" speaker, it was great to have Dan give his insight to all the clips and the journey throughout. Between this movie and the Art of Flight (I know, snowboarding) these are to AMAZING Red Bull sponsored vids. Good to see Travis Rice take a few moments in the interview section to prop his vid. Lots of shout-outs, DJ Jazzy Jeff spinning! Bam, so sad, honestly I was like "what the f**K happened to that guy", but then again, it's really no surprise if you've lived your life like that for the past 15 yrs Crazy interview, Sal, you deserve an award for keeping that interivew "clean".

We were expecting to just watch the movie, but really the interviews were a GREAT bonus. We had the computer linked up on the big screen at my house with a few friends and although it made for a later night than expected, totally worth it.

Last but not least, THANKS PINKBIKE!!!!

 seriously, i'm pretty sure he's a giant.
  • + 4
 He's wearing a 3D shirt?
  • - 1
I'd heard rumors that he was a unit, and I want to believe that lacondeguy is a normal 5'9"ish, but Kelly makes him look like a hobbit!
  • + 2
Andreu is like 5`5" and Kelly is like 6`7" or something like it.!

How does Red Bull have so much $$$$ selling those nasty drinks?
  • + 2
Its like with Monster...they sell tons of this bird pee!
  • + 3
A high level rep for the USA told me it costs them about 7cents per can. So yah, margin isn't too bad.
  • + 1
The best nights of my life involved red bull, somehow I understand how they make money.
  • + 3
That was the Vodka not the Red Bull that made the night
  • - 1
I support Redbull, a. cause the drink is hella yum and is like drinking 4 espressos (all the euros drink espresso) in one go. but more importantly b. cause they spono all kinds of awesomeness, ie this movie.
  • + 3
only hardcore italians drink 4 espresso a day Wink
All this "energy"drinks are a major waste of money....luckily they reinvest a lot of cash back in the sport!
  • + 1
I was on a drinking ban leading up to a race a few years back, and just drank red bull/monster instead in silly quantities. It was honestly incredible, I had incessant energyand the same drop in inhibitions as when I'm drunk... but with a bit more coherence... Only bad thing was my piss smelt disconcertingly strongly of taurine.

Well, at least Zink bothered to dress up and not wear some stoopid fucking backwards hat...
  • + 5
you can pay for school but you cant buy class
  • + 1
i'm pretty sure Kyle Straight dressed up too, or was that a cowboy costume? somehow that cowboy look validates his low-production value commercial for that derailleur thingy, lol

Dear Red Bull, Sell your fire truck and invest in a media player that works! Thanks
[Reply]
  • + 3
The movie was very good, I enjoyed it thoroughly. One critique, I felt it was a tad on the too serious side. Generally when I'm riding my bike it's more of a light hearted experience. The movie was lacking the "fun" aspect that I feel is captured in the Anthill Films. That aside, this movie was extremely well made, and I hope that all mtb movies will be made to this level of quality in the future.
[Reply]
  • + 3
Not classy. It's Vegas. There's nothing classy about Vegas. Looks like a douch fest to me. Why can't people dress up special for a special event. These guys look like they just ironed their riding clothes and went out.

As for the movie..awesome riding but really just another ski/snowboard film, with bikes.
  • - 3
...a bit bitter you weren´t there huh?? :p...don´t hate ...appreciate!!
  • + 3
Everything I said was true dude, maybe not a douch fest though, that was a bit strong.
  • + 2
I perfectly agree, zorba. I have zero respect for the clothing styles associated with these extreme sports athletes: no ingenuity, "Me-too!" styling, and simply no class. Most of the ladies look great, though.
  • + 8
And here I was thinking I was the only one wondering if a guy wearing nothing but a vest and a basket over his junk at a movie premiere reflects poorly on the sport. I'm happy to realize I'm not. Cam and Darren looked like ambassadors of a sport that wants to take it to the next level, but sadly were part of the few featured here that wouldn't fit in on the website Hot chicks with douche bags.
  • + 1
That was all in Vegas? Looked like some of the show you could see in the old Buckhead in Atlanta....
I for one was hoping for a bit more 9.2 surround sound wham bam!! The soundtrack was good, some decent surround going on but, still a bit too conservative imho.
Oh, and the narration started out very meaningful and I thought we'd get to something more deep... like after smoking a big joint or so, but it also was a bit light at the end.

Anyhow - Big D and co -> killer job, I've watched it 4 times since release day! Thats gotta say something.
  • + 1
ibeaver, loved your reference to Buckhead. I lived out there for a few years.
[Reply]
  • + 2
I bought the HD version off iTunes and watched it the right way on my big screen tv with surround sound. I have to say I loved the movie and loved the soundtrack. I really liked how it was kind of documentary style instead of just straight bike porn. I just want to know two things, how is Cam Zink still alive? With the nasty crash he had in China, along with the crash he had doing the 360 at 2010 Rampage along with the other nasty crash he had at Crank Worxs, he should at least be in a wheel chair Smile

Who was the lucky son of a b*tch who won the demo?
  • + 1
where can i find the list of songs of the soundtrack???
[Reply]
  • + 2
Ok i know i'm going to get slated but it has to be said, imo the best thing about MTB when i got in to it a few years ago was that it was a rip rorring shit kicking sport with a big F you attitude, now all of a sudden it's all gone commercialized big money and that's all anyone cares about now, look at DH uci world cup it's all about man groomed big jumps show boating sponsorship crap. and this film as much as i enjoyed some of it, the hype before it was a load of crap and embarrassing your not movie stars or anything like that ... the sport is loosing out soon it will be full of mammy's boys can already see the rich boys getting mammy and daddy buying crap for them and still cant ride yet get the sponsorship......
  • + 1
Sounds like when I started snowboarding over twenty years ago.....
  • + 4
Yeah man. It was so much better when we were all riding full rigid mountain bikes and there was no money out into the sport, no bike parks, shitty gear and no professionally built trails

Progress sucks.

*massive eye roll
  • + 1
yep a lot more fun and none of this comercial bullshit

[Reply]
  • + 5
Never was big on the who's who stuff.
  • + 6
I'm with you on that one. As the sport gets bigger it's going to happen though. The good thing is we're still at the stage where you can run into these people on the trails and they don't act like they're all the shit. And the truth is, 999/1000 people wouldn't recognize them on the street unless it's during crankworx.
  • + 1
You wouldnt recognize McCauls, Bareclaw, Zink, Lacondeguy or the rest of these guys? Shame on you!
  • + 3
What part of 999/1000 didn't you get? And I would, but only because I'm part of the mountain bike community and have met McCaul, Darren, Holly, Richie etc... But it's not like these guys are as recognizable as Tom Cruise, so they don't have the ego that goes with that kind of celebrity.

As for the rest of them, no. I wouldn't have recognized colanderballs since I don't watch jackass or hang out at the local detox clinic. Wink
  • + 2
lol so true, there can be egomaniac pros in the sport but the moment they step out of the trail, no one knows or cares too much about who they are. plus only 10% of all pros make much money.
  • + 1
Yeah you're right, sorry for the misunderstanding. I thought you meant 999/1000 mtb riders not the whole people.

yeah the guy with the metal strainer strapped around his bag I don't think is Raab Himself. Bam introduced him in the interview section and the reason for the alternative attire, but yeah, that's not Raab. At least not that I recall....Raab has gone onto better things and left those guys behind.... www.chrisraabhimself.com

The guy with the strainer is Brandon Novak, Chris Raab is on the far right. PS Watch "Haggard", it's awesome.

Like every Derek Westerlund project, this is all about people trying to be "rock stars" and trying to sell MTB as rock 'n' roll. Stupid, lame, wasteful, and bad for everyone except "Big D" and the "rock stars" who star in the movies.

Q: Who cares if you got some "epic shot" of Fred Freerider doing a freeride flick in Turkey?

A: Fred cares, his banker cares, his girlfriend cares, and a bunch of 12 year old PB fanbois care-- a lot.
