Sun Peaks Resort is bringing back the BC Cup series to our amazing bike park and to help celebrate we are adding a host of fun events for everyone to participate in. Starting Friday night with our first ever "Pumptrack up the Jams" pump track race on our brand new pump track located in parking lot 5. The Bicycle Cafe in Kamloops is coming up with prizes and plenty of good times to make this event one that you don't want to miss. Racing starts at 5pm and the finals will go around 6. There will be lots of Jams over the massive sound system and plenty of good times. The top 10 times will advance to the finals where your previous time will be thrown out and the top ten will battle for the fastest time.

Saturday is training day for the BC Cup #3, The Race course is going to be down DH and then proceed to Arm Pump, so you know its going to be one of the best courses of the season. That evening we are kicking off the evening with the "Double Rainbow Toonie Slalom". one of the negative sides of Dual Slalom racing is that you don't always get to challenge your buddies to fun races. Not this race, at the Double rainbow you can race whoever you want, meet at the top of the course pay your toonie and the winner gets his toonie back, the losers toonie goes into a bucket towards the "Big Sun Peaks Gift Card Prize" good as cash at all Sun Peaks Resort stores, which will be awarded to the fastest times of the day. We will do the awards and be showing a brand new Sun Peaks Bike Park film from Silvia Films in Masa's. After the Silvia Film is done The Kin will begin the evening with a show at Masa's Bar and Grill. This is a 19+ show and it will be an amazing way to finish off a great training day on the mountain.

Sunday is all about race day. There will be DH racing all day long up in the bike park, as well as BBQ's, music, and tonnes of other activities in the village. Stop by the bottom of the course to check out the kids area complete with a small "kids only" race course for the little ones to practice their skills. After the racing is finished and the champions have been crowned head back over to Masa's Bar and Grill for the Rocky Mountain Racer After Party. Masa's is going to have a DJ as well as a "Get Down, Foot Down Challenge" to win your meal. Rocky Mountain Bikes will also be on hand giving away prizes all night long.

Monday through to Wednesday Sun Peaks is going to be offering the level 1 Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Course. The Professional Mountain Bike Instructor (PMBI) Certification courses are designed to train you in modern mountain bike riding theory, skills and techniques and then how to safely and effectively teach these to clients - regardless of the mountain bike discipline. They are a result of nearly 20 years’ experience in mountain biking, studying the physics and biomechanics involved within the sport, while teaching, coaching and instructor training in the mountain bike and snowboard industries since 1998. These courses offer a modern approach and professional quality of training that will help develop your enthusiasm and skills within the sport into a passion, and possibly even a career, for teaching it to others. Visit the PMBI website for details.

Monday night is another "Pumptrack up the Jams" race brought to you by Bicycle Cafe Kamloops. Why not stick around for a few more days and enjoy the rest of the bike park. There will be great dinner specials and night life all week long.
