An Teallach Ride

Last year I climbed An Teallach, a mountain to the southwest of Dundonnell overlooking Little Loch Broom, and after seeing the views thought it would be good to ride down and document it all. Searching online I couldn't find anything saying anybody had ridden down this before which made it more appealing (Edit: I was informed that in the 90s, Paul Tatersall completed all munros by bike). After convincing Nipper to do the munro with bikes we did minimal planning and hoped the weather forecast was true. Apparently the most impressive mountain in Britain with the highest munro is Bidein a'Ghlas Thuill, sitting at 3,484ft. We were greeted with spectacular views and a few lines to ride. We knew that the descent wouldn't provide us with trail all the way down and the bogs certainly proved it. Despite having to get off and walk we rode some fast singletrack and pretty wild rock gardens.

Looks fantastic. I've bagged 3 on the bike - Ben Lomond (twice!), Ben Lawers and Ben Ghlas. Ben Lomond is fantastic, like a mini Fort William, can sometimes be busy with hikers tho. The other two is a double Munro on a ridge and has some great tight techy riding with fast rocky singletrack to finish. Would like to bag Lochnagar and of course Ben Nevis soon - the last will be difficult, due to trying to find both good weather and a moment when it's not hoachin' with tourists! Smile

My boss actually told me I should go and ride that mountain. He's a walker not a biker but he had recently been up there and said I'd love biking down it.
Seems he may have been correct, I'll add it to my ever growing list Smile

On a bike or hiking it is absolutely stunning. Although you definitely want to do it on a bike....

Always like a bit of natural big mountain riding, have done snowdon twice and i would love to do Ben Nevis as the next challenge

We are looking into Ben Nevis next but I can imagine it would just be a tourist obstacle course. I did the AMD Arete route earlier in the year and it was so busy heading back down. Might just have to be an early start or a later in the day one.

We're down in Edinburgh, would anyone be interested in a coordinated effort on something like Nevis or Lochnagar?
