Haro Bicycles Signs Freerider Kyle Strait and 2002 Junior Downhill National Champion Cody Warren for 2003 season.

Cody Warren

Vista, CA-April 7, 2003 - Haro Bikes has announced today the signing of 2002 Junior Downhill National Champion and 2002 USA Cycling Junior World Championship Team Member Cody Warren to its mountain bike team, for the 2003 racing season.

In addition to his Junior National Downhill Championship title, Cody's 2002 accomplishments include 2 wins and podium-top finishes at all five NORBA National Championship series races as well as wins in both downhill and dual slalom at the 2002 Sea Otter Classic.

"Adding the NORBA National Junior DH Champ to our Mountain Bike program is a Win/Win situation," said Mike King, Haro's Team Director. "Giving Cody Warren the opportunity to develop under Mick Hannah and Greg Minnaar was too easy to pass up. Cody will be learning from the best two DH riders on the planet and we are hoping this will carry him to a winning performance at the World Championships in Lugano, Switzerland in September."

Cody's first appearance for Haro-Lee Dungarees will be at the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, CA April 10-13.

Kyle Strait

Vista, CA-April 7, 2003 - Haro Bicycles officially announced today that they have signed 16 year-old Freeride phenom Kyle Strait to ride Haro frames for the 2003 season.

"Kayodic" Kyle has been the center of attention in the Freeride world ever since he won the jump contest at Sea Otter in 2001 at the young age of 13. Since then, he has entered numerous high-profile Freeride contests such as the Redbull Rampage and Redbull Freezeride events held all over the world. As the youngest competitor, he has received a tremendous amount of exposure in magazines such as Mountain Bike Action, Bike, Dirt, Launch MTB, Mountain Biking, and 180. Kyle has also been featured in many videos such as New World Disorder III, Sprung 5, Superheros II and III, Chainsmoke II, Evolution, and Chain Reaction 3.

"I've been a big fan of young Kyle Strait every since I witnessed his skills at the 2001 Sea Otter Big Air competition," said Mike King, Haro's ATB team manager. "He has the potential to be the next Ryan Nyquist of Mountain Bike Jumpers and we want to be a part of that movement."

While Freeride competitions will remain Kyle's main focus, he will also compete in select NORBA junior expert downhill and mountain cross events.
