Race For a Good Cause - John Waddell Fundraiser

Just got this e-mail from Jas at Perth Mountain Bike Club to give us some background on the John Waddell Fundraising race that is to be held in Perth Western Australia over the 7th and 8th of Feb.

When Sam Hill returned home after the 2003 season he approached Perth Mountain Bike Club with an idea of holding a fundraising race to raise money for Shooter to cover his expenses after his crash in Quebec. PMBC, Sam and Johns home club, of course agreed and the race is to be held on the weekend of the 7-8th of Feb.

We hope to raise as much money as possible through entry fees from the race and this means the bigger the start list for the race, the more money raised for John.

Overseas and interstate riders and companies that can not attend the event can still be part of the start list for the race by donating the race entry fee online by following the link to the paypal account from the Perth Mountain Bike Website (www.perthmtb.com), this account has been set up for the race so any donations to it go straight to John.

US$35 puts your name/company on the start list for elite with US$20 getting it on the under 17's list. You can donate as much or enter as many times as you like with the name you supply in the comments being the one included in the start list.

already about AUS$2000 has been raised from the online donations however we would like to seee that number increase dramatically until the day of the race.
