After much consultation and deliberation with the MD of Clearwater, Town of Rocky Mountain House and the Alberta Bicycle Association we regret to inform you that Return of the Fury III Revenge of Double Baseline which was scheduled for July 1, 2 & 3 will be postponed to July 8, 9 & 10.
Yesterday we had a special permit from the MD of Clearwater to tour the flooded region of the Prairie Creek valley which Baseline Mountain is part of. We can tell you Premier Ralph Klein is correct in his statement that this area suffered a once in a 300 year flood. Even our MTB Yoda who toured it with us stated this is utter devastation. Two of the four bridges that allow us access to the area are washed out and temporary ones are in place for now with restricted travel. The MD of Clearwater will lift its state of emergency soon and on Monday provide us with an update as when these critical bridges will be safe for travel. We are hoping by next Thursday or Friday.
Therefore we ask for your patience as we go through this process, we will hit the trails hard next week and insure all is ready for July 8, 9 & 10th.
