Thought it was about wheels not the seatpost as it was not moved up and down at least 10 times on camera, but still cool riding
  • 14 0
+1 I came here with similar thoughts!! The vid was great, I loved the foggy Whistler sequences-the light was awesome! Would have been great to see some visuals of the post operating though! Wink

Bas doesn't look happy doing enduro biking.
  • 7 1
It goes up and it goes down. Use your imagination.
  • 6 1
sorry easton, but this ad makes me want to buy transition frames and deity bars for the ride quality and the sexy
  • 5 0
anyone else wonder why hes climbing hills in the bike park?
  • 1 0
if your sponsor put you in that helmet/goggles combo you wouldn't look happy either.

now fox has 5 dropper posts to offer. Talk about range Razz

Turbine, heaven, ddos, new fox dropper, matzo dropper.

Kinda killed the market.

And I still prefer my Lev to any of those.
  • 58 2
Because you of course have ridden them all, even the unreleased ones...

For someone entering the dropper post market, you'd think they would have a video that actually shows how/why their product is unique, what problems it solves, ease of maintenance, or other informative content.

Instead, they seem to be like: Hey kids! Look at this sick edit and buy our really expensive product that we didn't even feature in our really sick edit featuring the product that we didn't show you!

Not to slam Easton, I'm sure it'll be a good product, I'm just saying their marketing technique assumes we will buy their product without any form of information on it.
  • 9 1
It does seem to show that the seat is willing to stay down Razz
  • 12 0
I'd rather just watch Bas shred, since the post probably isn't unique, doesn't solve any problems, and isn't easy to maintain. Wink
  • 9 0
Id feel more like this was a transition video than a dropper post honestly
  • 3 1
Why would you complain about this? "Aw man, too much shredding! I wanted to see a seat post move up and down and hear him talk about how sick it is!"

This is the best marketing.
  • 1 2
If you're only riding with the seat down for the entire trail, then when it comes to pedaling up - you adjust it (once)... Then please tell me how we all got so freakin' lazy we couldn't just adjust it via a quick release and save $500? Seems for this type of riding it's a total waste. More suitable where the trail is undulating and you're constantly wanting to adjust.
  • 1 0
Not necessarily lazy; who says this trail is the only trail he rides on this bike. Can't have a different bike for every single trail you ride, so you need to have a set up that covers our average needs.
  • 15 0
Dropper in the bike park - because the pedal up to Schleyer from Fitz chair is really hard.
  • 2 1
I couldn't count the number of struggling people that I have passed on the way up that hill. With ease.
  • 10 1
I was hoping it would be cheaper
  • 8 0
The 9point8 post is cheaper is that is where RF/Easton got their design from.
  • 7 1
Cant see why Raceface is charging $100 more for a post with the same technology as 9point8s Fall Line. I don't see the value in this post especially when the Fall Line is a proven product made in Canada.

To all ye complainers, replacing the O-rings and quad seals of yer reverbs and LEVs every second year do not require a PhD in Mechanical engineering og Material Science... It is a simple pressurised chamber with a user serviceable hydraulic cartridge.

Bas van steezebergen aka van steezeburger is the man! Love his riding style especially on his big bike I can watch him shred all day!
  • 4 1
I have a much cheaper ks post that's not even hydraulic and it NEVER fails so what is so much better about all of the costly ones?
  • 3 3
cool, another dropper post on the market. this one seems like it could be the one you actually want. durable, cable actuated, easy to set up...maybe. others have come close. not one has actually nailed it. hope they took the time to develop properly, we all remember how bad their wheels were a few years ago.
  • 2 0
I could not get my eyes off the amount of cable from that dropper..Someone get a mechanic up here pronto, we are loosing him.
  • 3 0
I'm all for recycling but thats a shit spot for an old V brake noodle. They just t.t.t.tap the brake lever.
  • 1 1
I understand what most of you are saying about not showing the post going up and down , but we all know how it work !! Don't we? You go up the hill , you put it up! You go down a hill you put it down ! Do we need a video to show it to us ? Ddoooo !! No , I think that video is perfect , he got it up on the way up then down when he ride down, all in style !! Awesome!
  • 1 0
Where the cable comes out of the actuator looks so crap. Do you really want what looks like a noodle from a crappy old V-brake staring you in the face while you ride?

Sort it out...
  • 1 0
From what you can tell in the video, that Noodle in the photo is not the same as the one on Bas's Bike

If I were ever to have sex with a man, this music would be playing in the background
  • 5 0
If I were ever to have sex with a man my screams would drown out any music playing in the background. Each to his own though.

 Screams of ecstasy.

Nice little edit, bas riding style is so sick
  • 1 2
My new consumer direct bike should show up next week complete with reverb. So far ive only tried gravity dropper and ks lev but the lev is always broken. I think its only seen 4 or 5 rides. Seems like a little string is the only thing supporting riders weight and it snaps so easily. The gravity dropper has seen loads of abuse and if something does go wrong its easy to fix. Even trail side. Hoping for the best with the reverb. My friend just had to replace his after just a few months
  • 2 1
Wow he must have raised and lowered his seat at least once during that whole dh trail. ! I realy need one of those! Obviously!
  • 2 0
Frankly I would rather get slammed in the nuts by my seat than throw down that much money on a post. Cool edit!
  • 3 1
I thought he was slowmo bro for a second there.
  • 2 0
Transition patrol look nice not sure about the dropper
  • 3 0
 That bike is heaven
  • 1 0
Nice one Jamie and Alex cracking little edit. Post looks good too they do a 150mm drop 30.9 so I'm in..
  • 1 0
I'm anxious to see a long-term review of a dropper post wich durability fence inline with its price.
  • 1 0
So is this more like Raceface or Fox?
All same companies....
  • 1 0
Kind of like a fall line?
  • 3 0
This and the Turbine from RaceFace are both similar to the 9point8 Fall Line. Different heads, levers and graphics.
  • 14 1
whooaaaa you mean there's some factory in asia making dropper posts for a bunch of companies and just differentiating them with branding and finish?! no waaaay I had no idea that happened in this industry
  • 3 0
9point8 manufactures their own products. Only the technology is licensed to RaceFace and Easton.
  • 2 0
 enduro specific?
  • 2 4
9point8 states that "many" of their products are made in house and "All products are assembled and tested in our own factory, to assure quality."...

And they liscence the tech from RF and Easton

So my guess is still that most of the parts are coming from the same factories.
  • 3 0
9point8 has licensed the technology to RaceFace and Easton, not the other way around.
  • 2 0
Thanks- didnt know they originally designed the post. Have yet to see one in person, anyone have firsthand comments on it?
  • 1 0
They are nice, and at a minimum Canadian assembled. Some of their earlier posts carried a lifetime warrantt

Sick product if you're a Easton sponsored rider
  • 2 3
would've been sick if there wasn't that crappy "inspirational" music in the background.

Good filming, good editing good riding, shit song
  • 1 0
 The name of the song???
  • 2 1
 whats this epic music?
  • 5 1
 Darude - Sandstorm
  • 1 1
 What are those shoes?
