The twelfth annual Bear Mountain Challenge in Mission BC went off this past weekend with 289 racers from all over coming out to take on the XC and DH events. Our own Pinkbike.com/Devinci DH team was there in full force. The skies stayed blue and an amazing event was held.

On Saturday the XC race went off with out a hitch with 79 racers saddling up and enduring the mid 20's temperatures while the DH racers practiced across the road for Sunday's big show.
Plenty of race action shots can be found here:

The weekend wasn't all full of great results as one of our own went down hard in practice. Simon Stevenson (2 time Master Expert National Champ) had a crash in practice while trying to avoid another rider and the end result saw Simon being aided off the mountain with a broken ankle. Heal up buddy as we'll all miss you until you are back on course!
Blue skies on Sunday morning meant it would be a great day for racing! The shuttles fired up on time and racers got in a few practice rips before the show started. I'll save you the details of the day and skip straight to the meat and potatoes of the results for everyone and some great action shots.

All my action shots from the race (Approx. 100 photos).
Dave's action shots from the race are here (Approx. 20 photos).
Brad's action shots from the race are here (Approx. 80 photos).
The awards went off nicely if I do say so myself and everyone seemed to be enjoying the nice grassy area at Mill Pond with their team tents. 208 DH racers had a great weekend and I hope to see even more out next year at the 13th Annual Bear Mountain Challenge.
