The 6th Annual Beti Bike Bash presented by Stan’s NoTubes will showcase a brand new venue and courses at the Phillip S. Miller Park in Castle Rock, Colo. on June 13-14, 2015. Unprecedented rainfall and snow melt have caused Bear Creek Lake Park, the home of the Beti Bike Bash the last five years, to reach water levels near the record 2013 flood. Team Yeti Beti has been working tirelessly with the support of its sponsors and the park to ensure the Beti Bike Bash is the same quality event our participants have grown to expect and love.

We are really excited about what Philip S. Miller park offers. It’s close to the Front Range, the trail system can replicate our courses from Bear Creek, and is large enough for our clinics and tech expo. We are forever grateful to our friend Kyle Sipes and park staff, Jeff Smullen and Scott Smeeton, for helping us in our unprecedented need”, said Amy Thomas, co-founder and race director of the Beti Bike Bash

The Town of Castle Rock welcomes the event with an exciting new venue, just minutes off of Interstate 25. This 270-acre park features 7.4 miles of native singletrack, the newly constructed Miller Activity Complex (MAC), an adventure playground, and zip line.

What originally started in 2009 as a vision for a race that would bring more women to the start line with few barriers, fun, and encouragement, has turned into a community driven to spark a lifelong passion in every woman no matter the age, ability or experience. The Beti Bike Bash's primary goal is to make the "first" race experience a positive one that will give women the confidence to pursue their goals and dreams, on and off the bike.

We believe that it is not what, or how we are doing this, that makes the Beti Bike Bash so impactful. It is the “why” and believing that more women mountain biking creates stronger, healthier and happier communities,” said Sarah Rawley, owner of Mountain Grown Marketing and co-founder of the Beti Bike Bash.

Their formula part of the "why" is working and the growth is unprecedented. Last year the race welcomed almost 400 women. The Beti Bike Bash has seen an average 30 percent yearly increase in participants. Last year 97 juniors girls participated in 18 & Under categories including Beginner, Sport, Expert, and the Elevation Cycles Junior race featuring a shorter, fun singletrack course.

The 2015 Beti Bike Bash will host multiple opportunities to learn and thrive mountain biking on Saturday, June 13 including the Little Bellas camp for girls, ages 8-13; VIDA MTB Series Core 1-day clinic for women of all abilities, but tailored for cross country riding and racing at this location; and a full mountain bike demo expo. Several local bike companies will be on hand to talk to female riders about fit and the latest technology available including Yeti Cycles, Pivot Cycles, Niner, REEB, and Stan's NoTubes. Participants can also pre-ride and register between Noon and 3 p.m. for Sunday’s race.

The main affair of the weekend, the Beti Bike Bash race, will attract the top professional women in the U.S., all vying for a $4000 cash purse. The expo will expand to include event sponsors such as Noosa Yoghurt, Optic Nerve, Oskar Blues Brewery, Yakima racks, SOS socks, Wahoo's Fish Tacos serving lunch for racers, and more! Sunday will also include extended bike demos, a kid's race for the youngest two-wheeled enthusiasts, and the inaugural Drag Race category for men.

Guys have asked to be a part of the Beti Bike Bash for years, and we wanted to make sure that we kept the event focused on what makes this event a special place for new and junior female races,” Thomas said. “We decided that one fast hot lap at the end of the day would round out the weekend with some additional fun and include some of our biggest fans, providing their costume contain adequate feminine touches,” Thomas said. “Prizes will be awarded for Fastest Lap and Best Flare.”

The Beti Bike Bash will also benefit The Cycle Effect, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Summit County, Colorado, whose mission is to help young girls and women discover confidence through two wheels.

We are happy to help further their mission by supporting them as our non-profit partner for this year's Beti Bike Bash,” Rawley said. “They will be joining us for the weekend to race and experience all of the excitement and empowerment of a women's only event.
