i was laughing so hard because the sram eagle banner was flasing above the video, and also because of guilt in thinking of upgrading another part of my bike instead of leveling up my riding skill set,
Awesome Vernon! we all could stand to learn about what is most important. Just ride what ya got and be stoked! Those kids are pretty lucky to be up in Whistler shredding. I don't think you were making fun of them, more at us over-priveliged consumers who keep buying what ever the big companies crank out year after year. Super cute "30 second bike check"
I keep telling everybody.... Pinkbike did a great job by adding Vernon to their staff! A breath of fresh air, something different than the norm. Hey Vern, keep up the good work!!!!
That was awesome!!! My little guy just turned 4 and I have to say I felt pretty damn cool taking him for his first "Ride around the block" the other day. I can't wait to get him on the trails!
Oh, and his favorite thing about his bike.... it's Red!! Don't ask that I spent the good part of a month researching kids bikes, and hunted for another month on craigslist to find it...
Fun factor is what really matters. Too many times we are looking what would make us more happy instead of just enjoying what we have. Thanks Vernon and Pinkbike for great timeless video
It's gonna be awesome for you when it happens. The best part of my week is riding on Sunday's with my daughter. So bummed we can't ride tomorrow cos I have a broken collarbone
I was at Whistler in July and there were so many kids there. They're talking about who got the most air on A-Line and I'm sitting there wondering if I should hit Crank it Up.
If we all left more kid's personality inside our head while we getting older the world would become more kind. Hope that will happen some day. I think riding bikes helps with that.
Pinkbike supports all this marketing stuff about brands, and parts. And then they made a video saying "Is not about the bike, it's about the rider" LOL!
@choppertank3e: No worries. Bit of a shame isn't it? There's a huge market for it here with the likes of Lil' Shredder and Spawn Cycles. Hopefully someone will realise the potential and start distributing something similar back in Aus.
Hmm nice idea but the execution is lacking. Poking fun at kids isn't exactly the peak of humour, which I get isn't intended, just how it came across at parts. I was hoping for an enthusiastic 'look how cool my bike is' rather than confused one word answers.
That said, to the little guy who likes huge stunts, I'm with you man haha
Awww, It's a shame you felt that way about this video, there was nothing malicious about it to me, just exposed the innocence of the children and their view of the world even in sports.
Your looking at it all wrong. It was poking fun at adults who get hung up on the latest tech. Kids don't care if they boost or eagle. They just want to ride their bike.
I took this as Felton making fun of the rest of us. The people that are tech weenies or all about the newest gear, to say we should all strive to be more like these kids. Run what you got and be happy that you're out there shredding.
That about sums it up for most I think.
Thank you Vernon, Thank you.

Reminds me of probably the best mountain bike pure stoke video I can recall: youtu.be/0qmQrEM5rVA
Super cool vid
