Yt is having a great sale. Just picked up a Capra CF Comp 1 %25 off.
  • 12 0
you must be size S, as they don't have anything in L and M for a month now
  • 9 0
Seriously. Bought a Jeffsy CF Comp1 on sale in September. Now its another $600 off what I paid.
  • 34 0
@thetimanator: yeah, the moral of the story - you'd have to be crazy to buy anything full price
  • 1 0
I wanted to buy one too, but it seems like this sale is just in the US
  • 2 1
 @johannes1: In Canada as well.
  • 7 0
@thetimanator: But you got to ride it until now Wink
  • 1 2
I can not find the yt cf pro in small frame
  • 1 0
@Rileyplummer: I am not sure if you live close to the Canadian border but Canadian site has the green and the black in stock
  • 36 3
Hey Calgary Cycle- blow it. Pumping up your Schwalbe prices to $130, then pretending you're giving a discount? That leaves me feeling a bit flat.
  • 14 2
 Worst sale tactic ever...
  • 3 2
@burnbern: lol..that place sucks..go to ridleys, never had an issue with them. 2nd id buy the tires online for $50. Not paying for jacked up prices
  • 5 8
@cerealkilla @burnbern @gunners1 You guys have no idea what you're talking about. The prices you see are the result of the way the bike industry distribution works. If you knew the cost that brick n mortar shops pay for items like tires, you would not be saying that the prices are jacked up. LBS's need support, but at the end of the day it's not your fault for being loyal to the dollar - we're all in the same boat. Also, next time you go to Ridley's, check their price tag for Schwalbe tires. Whether it's CC or Ridley's, their products come from the same place.

People like you are misinformed. Please don't trash a good name based on your unfounded assumptions.
  • 2 1
@elesdee: Allot of bike stores are over priced which is why I buy my tires/derailleurs other mtn biking goods online. Also the high prices they charge makes people not want to purchase mountain biking gear in general and also makes it harder for regular people with regular salaries to enjoy the sport or get into it in general. As far as ridleys vs CC goes, I just find the service I receive from ridleys to be better. Therefore I get the best bang for my buck that way. So I do know what i'm talking about and there aren't any asumptions, just experiences and facts I've seen at both stores and online.
  • 3 0
@elesdee: Call horsecrap on that. You can pry your lips off CC's butthole anytime. Regular price of those tires most places is $109. They jack it to $129, then act like they're giving big savings. Your reply has zero merit.
  • 2 0
@elesdee: Not sure if you are comprehending the discussion. I am not complaining about an LBS selling tires for Schwalbe MSRP. I am complaining about them jacking the sticker price another $20 and then calling it a "sale".

Super annoying and misleading...
  • 1 2
@cerealkilla Thx for the advice, too bad you have no idea what "regular price" is. I say again: misinformed. @gunners1 i'm sure you're referring to that time you're POS dropper wasn't working and the boys at CC replaced cable/housing on the spot with no question and no charges only to find out that the actuation on that post was dicked due to poor design - totally their fault.
@burnbern You obviously don't know how distribution works in the bike industry - shops don't jack up prices - they sell things based on their cost from their distributors. If you don't like the price, buy online. No one at the shop is making it seem like a "sale", the discounts come easy only because shops try to do their best to get close to online prices.

Stop being a*sholes. Next time you're considering buying something from a shop, ask "can you match this online price, or get close to it?" Instead of being a wise-ass-know-it-all economist calling out shops for jacking up prices.
  • 3 0
@elesdee: Stop smoking crack. I go to bike shops every week. They ALL sell the same tires for $109, regular price. I love my LBS, and certainly would never waste a nickel at some place trying to pull a fast one like this.

If you weren't so busy smoking CC's bone, you'd realize we're not attacking LBS, just janky ones that want to get in on the whole Black Friday thing, but don't actually want to give a deal.

What a pile of crap.
  • 1 0
@elesdee: I love my local LBS and buy everything but the stuff I purchase used from them.

But if I go in there, and the tires I normally buy for $95 have a sticker on them that says "Reg. $120 on sale $95" I am going call them on it... Except my LBS wouldn't pull that crap, cause they are awesome. Also, if they did (cause they had an un-awesome moment), and I called them on it, they wouldn't call me an a*shole.
  • 1 0
@elesdee: Yes I am refering to the time my dropper post had to be fixed but your missing a couple key points. Firstly I had gone into the 22x shop in bragg creek where it was supposedly fixed but wasn't for which I paid for. They are the same company right ?! Then after i brought the seatpost into CC it took them a good 20-25 minutes to replace a cable and after riding away with it noticed it wasn't done properly, thus i had to bring it back in a third time. As far a poor design goes, after having the cable replaced properly at ridleys nothing has gone wrong with the cable or post, and that includes racing with it in revy, kamloops and two other races where I have used the post allot and the dicked poor design seems to be holding up.
  • 1 0
@elesdee: Except that this tire we are detailing is always $68 at my local Universal Cycles.
  • 34 1
That intense. 3k from 7k. Is it cracked? :-D

These aren't black Friday deals. These are prices that are readily available 90% of the year. Garbage. Black Friday for bike stuff on the internet isn't good, some of these online shop sell products at rock bottom prices already, I guess we are all a little spoiled with internet prices to remember it's waaaay cheaper than going to the local shop to begin with.
  • 12 1
Is anyone else seeing $299.95 on a bunch of bikes on that EVO site? I'm losing my shit hahah
  • 4 0
Holy shit, someone goofed! There's no way they'll be able to honor that...
  • 3 0
Yes sir, not really believing my eyes but i'm seeing it too. Intense Tracer 275 for $300… What's the catch?
  • 3 0
Has anyone placed an order yet?
  • 27 1
@nyhc00: I just ordered a TRACER 275C EXPERT, $398USD with taxes and shipping. I'm not holding my breath that they will honor the deal but you never know!
  • 6 0
@yakker: i just did the same, haha. If we have to get refunded it's worth the risk.

I tried and the price jumped as soon as I went to checkout.

  • 5 1
Hell yeah, my friend bought 3 bikes there today for $900 (something like $12k for 3 bikes without a discount)...I wonder if those deals are real and they were like "let's make some hype there with those prices!"
I wanted to buy a Lib Tech splitboard for $300 and no way the price jumped to $999 on a checkout =(

But fcuk, that is what the REAL BLACK FRIDAY is all about! Make the buyers gone MAD!!!
And not those -20% super-duper-only-today-deal.

While I got a confirmation email, when trying to check my order number on their site it does not exist. Has anyone received an order canceled email yet?
  • 2 1
@snosports16: Ya, curious to hear how this plays out...
  • 3 2
@burnbern: @snosports16: Messaged Evo on Facebook hours ago (different time zones), this was their reply:

Hey ***** -

We unfortunately had a pricing error on our site where a majority of our products were listed at $299.99. We have since fixed the error and the prices should now be correct.

- evo

So I guess people will found out soon if they honor the prices. I somehow doubt it...
  • 5 0
I really wanna know how this is going to end up
  • 17 1
@burnbern @wisey Got an email from Evo this evening describing the pricing error/glitch and subsequent order cancellation. However to close the email they stated that their goal is to deliver great products, service, prices, and information. They admitted that today they fell short and understand the disappointment of a lost deal. To back it up they provided a promo code good for $50 on my next order through Dec 10th. Pretty bang up job in my opinion. My expectation was to get a sorry, your order is canceled tough shit, to which I am blown away with their response. Kudos Evo!
  • 1 3
@snosports16: saw this similar situation the other day - you may be eligible for more then 50 bucks

www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/37933251?
  • 7 2
@onemind123: with a limited understanding of business Law I'm going to guess this is because the business took the payment and issued a receipt.

Google "invitation to treat" . Listing a price does not force a business to sell you the item at that price. Taking payment of it does make it legally binding though. I'm not sure how this would apply to an online business in terms of what constitutes the payment being processed and the contract closed.

That being said maybe just don't be a dick by trying to take unfair advantage of an obvious and honest mistake.
  • 8 4
@onemind123: Kinda BS that you would even desire to screw over a small business knowing they made a mistake. Besides, it's already stated in their terms & conditions that they can cancel orders due to such errors.
  • 1 0
@snosports16: They handled it great in my opinion. Thanks for the follow-up. +1 for Evo!

Anyone here concerned of what mass consumerism means for our us and our planet?

Realise that in the 1920 to 30s Edward Bernays took the same psychoanalytical methods devised by his uncle, Sigmund Freud and used by the nazis for propaganda, and used it for marketing. Basically designing and manipulating people to buy things they don't need on impulse often with built in planned obsolescence.

Fcuk that! I ain't no mindless sheep #BuyNothingDay

These sale prices are more realistic to that MSRP! The manufacturers are killing the sport with their ridiculous pricing. Biking is an organic lifestyle, but somewhere along the trail, lost its way and became a corporate driven monster.
  • 1 0
Are some people confusing MSRP (manufacturers suggested retail price) and MAP (minimum advertised price)? Maybe that's way people are saying a certain company is asking more than MSRP, but really it's MAP and their just used to seeing MAP pricing from every business because of the amount of competition in this retail space.
