Is mountain biking only a 'thing' in BC? Not a lot of riders from other parts of Canada. Just curious.

It's a thing outside of BC, but Canada is a large country and people from Eastern Canada would have to fly out with their bikes which is expensive.

@SlipperyWhenDry: Bingo. There's a LOT of very fast French and Ontario riders, who have both podiumed at this event or won it. The problem is Canada is incredibly vast by ANY standard (we are after all, the biggest country), and there is little to zero support for racing in Canada. Just look at the results from Canada cups from both east and west coasts for comparison.

Just gotta say, there are 2 Canada Cup races on the East Coast, Mont Tremblant, and Blue Mtn ( wherever that is?) Also there is Mont St. Anne, world cup. Expensive for West coast racers to go to the east coast as well.
