Kelowna hosts the upcoming 2010 Center of Gravity Festival

Kelowna, B.C., one again hosts the Center of Gravity Sports and Music Festival for 2010. Held on the sandy shores of Okanagan Lake, Center of Gravity combines mountain biking with other actions sports, live music, and bikini contests! Come and check out all the action and then cool off in the lake.

Flirt with Dirt: A Fuelled Mix of Adrenaline & Technique At the Center of Gravity’s Dirt Zone Kelowna, BC, July 2010

Center of Gravity's (COG) is proud to announce the line up for this summers Freestyle Mountain Bike Series. This year's competition is guaranteed to push the bar with new tricks and bigger jumps, these boys are bound to give us an eye full of entertainment. Riders will battle it out for Kelowna Cycle Best Trick and Best Line, where spectators can view with ice cold bevies and DJs located on the west side of the course. The Flashbacks Lake Jump will feature the Freestyle Mountain Bike boys ripping down a 20ft ramp on Hot Sands Beach and then launching off of a 6ft kicker into the Okanagan Lake!




Center of Gravity’s Freestyle Mountain Bike Line-up:
• Friday, July 30th - 12.00pm Warm Up Session, 2.30pm Lake Jump – Warm Up Session (Water Zone), 5.00pm Jam Session

• Saturday, July 31st - 12.00pm Jam Session, 2.30pm Lake Jump (Water Zone), 5.00pm Best Trick Line Comp

• Sunday, August 1st - 12.00pm Jam Session, 2.30pm Lake Jump (Water Zone), 5.00pm Kelowna Cycle Best Trick




The Center of Gravity is a 3-day festival built along Okanagan Lake with Bud Light Lime Gardens located on beautiful sandy beaches, a concert series each day, DJ shows, fashion shows, bikini contests, after parties each night, and over 150 pro athletes competing in 6 different sports: beach volleyball, freestyle mountain biking, FMX, wakeboarding, jet ski racing, and basketball. The Center of Gravity is BC's hottest sport and entertainment festival!





Local pro Steve Romaniuk is leading the mountain bike charge at Center of Gravity and he had this to say:

"Super excited once again to have mountain bikes going off downtown City Park, Kelowna. I have always wanted to do something in my hometown to showcase my sport! This being the 3rd season back, we are expecting close to 15,000 people rolling in through the gates this August long weekend. Myself and my go to man in course construction, Steve White, who has recently just finished the jump park here in Kelowna B.C. have lined up over 30 full size truck loads of dirt for the show. We have also added new sports to the event like Freestyle Moto, Jetski racing, and the wakeboard winch jam. Not to mention bad ass concerts like Naughty by Nature! So make sure you get to City Park this weekend and take in all the sports and action."
