Edmunston NB...reminds me of there too, great stop on the way to PEI...like the birth place of clunkers i believe. Bob Clunker born Tony Smith change his name in the great wheel size debate of 1908, branded a bike, lifestyle and a location. wait until his 141 9mm takes shape....hahahha
I tried going back to basics with the Transition Clunker --- loved it but the stock rear coaster brake was a bit much (actually, NOT enough). aside from the rear brake, or lack there of, that was a fun bike
@SintraFreeride: have you guys tried a rigid single speed? Plenty of "fun" without the shitty brakes and geo. I like having one as a second bike when I haven't much time but I still want my ride to count.
yeah --- I have been doing single speed for a silly long time ---- dating back to at least 1994ish I was pretty hard core into single speed. I had a whole bunch of true single speeders frames, Surly 1x1, On One Inbred, a could Santa Cruz Chameons, at least three different Kona's, a Mountain Cycle Rumble, just to name a few.
I 'single' handedly turned a boat load of people onto the whole 1x1 but, that Klunker, yeah, it's a hard sell --- coaster brakes sucks for around here. vimeo.com/51119615
I think Transition did the Klunker with coaster simply to keep the cost down. FYI - They actually come with a real old skool front brake that actually can't be used with the bike but its in the box only because of some lame-ass legal issue (lame, like putting reflectors on bikes). Love the Klunker but, I can't use it like you're seeing used in that vimeo video
