Creative Lines is a project created by Keith Morelan, showcasing that he is not your average DH rider. Hand built, maintained and ridden by Keith, this rampagesque line is tucked away in a small suburb of Silicon Valley (the last place you'd expect for jumps of this caliber). Documented by Matthew Gillooley and Josh Woodward, this over 6 month project finally takes shape. A full slideshow of the production from Josh can be found by clicking here.

What does this project mean to you?

This project was such a great experience. I got to work with some amazing people along the way! I want to thank Trail Head Cyclery ( @TrailHeadCyclery ) and the whole team for supporting me. Also a huge shoutout to Matthew Gillooley and Josh Woodward for putting this article together. Lastly, thank you to Andrew Doud ( @andrewdoud ) for all his help building these jumps for me. From start to finish, it took Andrew and I five months to complete this line in the blistering summer of Belmont, California, which is not the easiest place to build when there's a drought.

What was you best moment or set of moments throughout filming?

My best moment was when I finally turned my long time vision into reality by riding the whole line, top to bottom, with a backflip at the end. Six months ago, my vision was to build a line of huge jumps that terrified me enough to push myself to the next level as a rider. I practiced hard and crashed even harder while learning how to backflip and opposite 270 the wall-ride.

You had a horrific crash as the project was being finished. Can you explain what happened and what you plan to do?

The roll into the big gap I crashed on was extremely loose. My rear tire broke traction, going into that sharp left turn towards the lip and I clearly didn't have enough speed to clear it. I plan on fixing the roll in and putting down a solid berm into the lip so it flows better! I'll land it perfect next time."

Everytime I go to carlmont, I keep wondering what's going through the heads of people. The lines there are massive.

Would love to see this kid ride Green River-- or if you can't make it to Utah, bet you could come up with some interesting lines at Tumey Hills.

"...Silicon Valley (the last place you'd expect for jumps of this caliber)" I could name a few others...i.e The Vatican, Maldives, or Korean Demilitarized zone to name afew

Before today, you'd probably never heard of or known of these jumps. So in theory it is the last place you'd expect them to be. Haha I'm just teasing, but seriously don't take everything you here like it is the law of nature or whatever. It's just a little writer's blurb to make you think about why it might be an unassuming place to build jumps, not likes it's the only place that jumps couldn't be build and now the creators have defied all odds to create them.

You guys know Santa Cruz and aptos are all of 45 minutes away from this spot(without traffic), so claiming "silicon valley is the last spot you'd think..." is somewhat ridiculous. Also Carlmonts been around for years and is in a few solid Mtb vids.

But damn, everything that dude hit in this edit was huuuuuuge.
