Darren Pokoj, the young ambitious, but also experienced rider, is the brand new member of the Felt team. The 21 year old Australian caught a lot of eyes not only during the various contests he attempted worldwide in the last two years. Now he is looking forward to a very successful future with his new partner Felt.
Darren showed his enormous potential numerous times in last season. Almost winning the Nissan Qashqai Challenge in Madrid Spain, he proved his very personal style. Nobody can do nosedive 360s like he can. So within the pro-scene they are just called “down under threes”. But Darren is not only into street and dirt jumping. Originally he had started with BMX twelve years ago, then he got into mountain bikes. He became a quite successful DH and 4-Cross rider, winning various national and international 4X and downhill competitions in 2004 and 2005. In 2006 he also focused on freeride and slope style competitions, e.g. winning the slopestyle at the Red Bull Trailfox, becoming the “Vienna Air King” or placing 5th at the Adidas Slopestyle and 6th at the Red Bull District Ride in Italy, even with a broken ankle!
It obviously can be stated, that Darren is one of the most versatile riders. Doesn't matter if it's downhill, dirt, slopestyle, street, park or just freeriding - Darren has that special feeling for his bike, like only a few guys have.
Felt produces a huge range of bikes for these different disciplines. Therefore it's a perfect fit for Darren and for Felt. The USA based company has got only one goal: “To design, develop, and deliver the best bicycles in the world“. Darren will bring in all his knowledge and experience to support Felt in achieving this aim. Felt is building a high-class team right now, having signed riders like Joscha Forstreuter as well as Cameron Zink (winner Kokanee Crankworx-Slopestyle 2006). You can be sure, that there are some great innovations to come.
Right now, Darren is enjoying the down under summer at the Gold Coast of Australia. From April on he will spend most of his time in Europe to join all the international contests and to keep riding his bike all year long. You will be able to watch Darren`s riding skills the first time in 2008 at the Vienna Air King on April 19th and 20th in the middle of Vienna's city center.
Felt and rasoulution wish Darren just the best for the next season. Stay the way you are, keep on rocking and go big.

It seems odd considering Felt isn't the best FR company.

Wow what were they thinking hes emo he will probbly kill him self before his contract ends!!!!!!!!!!!!
thats not what emo means dude.
you probably dont know what hippie means either

intense has such better bikes but hes a sweet rider so he will pull awsome tricks on anybikes. AUSSIE PRIDE
yeah its mad to see an aussie out there goin big on the international circuit.
I love it how people comment on how he looks emo.... Proving the fact that 90% of the world have no idea what emo is. emo is not fashion, its a style of music. Its whiny pissy music, not screaming metal bands. he is just into the fashions of hardcore and metalcore kids, not emo.

Felt is picking up some killer riders. Zink, Forstreuter, and Pokoj should all be shredding this coming season. It'd be rad to see Zink healthy all year also. I havn't seen much of Pokoj but what I have seen has all be done with over the top style, especially the dumped 3's!
As for the bikes, I've seen a lot of the '08 felts up close and they are dialed, a lot of details go into all of them.
There have been one or two photo's of a new longer travel felt floating around the Internets. I know nothing about it but it looked to be either in the longer travel freeride or DH bike category. It looked pretty good! Someone out there track down some more pics and post 'em here!

great rider and i'm glad to see him doing well! i watched him slay the redbull evolution jumps the day before the slopestyle... the guy has a really awesome style and is fun to watch do his thing. I hope to see him this year at crankworx with some better luck than 07! that crash was nasty!
he should not have done that
Pronunciation is Pokoy. Aussie pride! There is a photo somewhere on here of him doing the most intense inverted flattie EVER! Absolutely massive.
MR.Style He is my Hero LA Pride
Looks like he has a buger in his nose, and a sore on his mouth. Seriosly, what is with all that shit in his face.
maybe he is a harcore emo rider. but he sure is better than us i tell ya.
Doesn't matter what he looks like, are you all homo's. Who gives a shit, he rips harder then anyone on this site.
he isn't even effing emo. a person isn't emo simply because they style their hair or something. emo is for the most part dead, and was never even that big, people just blew it out of proportion because its an easy way to pick on people.
He looks like something between emo and Capitan Jack Sparrow
his reward for that compition was probly a pack of razor blades lol
hes not an emo
ive never met an emo that rides bikes
ive never met an emo that rides bikes
and yet he can ride better then anyone that calls him "emo"
Haha... never met an emo that rides bikes? The whole BMX scene has turned emo in the past few years and as MTB seems to follow BMX trends then you're sure to see a lot more dirt jumping emos... this kids obviously included.
He looks like an extra from a Good Charlotte video... and that's not a compliment.
Yeah yeah, let the negative props roll in... but you know your sister wants her skin tight jeans and eye-liner back

... take that with a pinch of salt. The kids got skills and that's all that counts.
I just like poking fun at scenesters

It's terrible! It should be about riding bikes, not a fashion show. Happens to everything though, skateboarding, snowboarding, BMX... and now from the looks of things MTB is the next victim. We need to stand together and fight! Who's with me?
(Get the salt out again.. I speak a lot of shit

its worse with snowboarders cos they all follow styles and shit cos snowboarding is so style influenced
True... when snowboarding 1st started getting big it was all earthy, pastel colours and basic, yet functional designs... and they used to rip on skiiers for wearing mad flurescent, day-glo garms. Now it's all come full circle... the skiiers have totally mellowed and are wearing simple designs and basic colours, whereas the snowboarders are rocking mad luminous steez. It's like the bastard love-child of an 80s ski movie mixed with a 50-Cent video. It's funny. I've been snowboarding for about 15 years so have seen many styles come and go... and most have sucked, haha.
BMX is still the worst for the "emo look" or whatever they're calling themselves that isn't "emo" this week. Damn those kids love their tight jeans and black hair dye.
What the f*ck are we talking about? Haha

Anyway, now I'm home from work I just checked his 3s on YouTube and they're sick! The kid defo has style on a bike.
Hey its Chris Angel, "Mindfreak", nice bandana!
