Deity 2009 Gear

The first wave of 2009 deity gear is launched!

Portland, Oregon - Bound by attitude, style, and not conforming for anybody, the deity crew continues to expand their ever growing product line with the release of some of their anticipated new 2009 products. With the debut of deity’s all new Fantom Series of stems, Alibi Series of sprockets, Lock-On line of grips, and the Decoy Pedals, you can now access almost a hundred pages of technical information, product images, and much more at www.deitycomponents.com.

Redesigned from the ground up and available in 3 formats, the Fantom Series of stems exemplify the detail and evolution that deity continues to focus on month by month. With the release of the all new and long awaited Fantom 1.5 Stem, Fantom 25.4 Stem, and Fantom 31.8 V2 Stem, the new Fantom Series of stems are not only the lightest deity stems so far, but the new models and designs are even stiffer than previous deity stem models.

Fantom 1.5 Stem-

The highly anticipated deity Fantom 1.5 Stem has been in the works for the past two years and marks the continuing evolution of the deity Fantom Series. Lightweight and incredibly strong, the machined exoskeleton of the Fantom 1.5 stem is not only impressive in a picture, but must be seen first hand. With comprehensive internal machining, its wide stance, and low profile, the Fantom 1.5 is a welcome addition to the growing deity line.

Unlike many stems on the market that feature sharp machined angles on the outside of the stem that are not only the last thing you want your face or knees to hit, but can be an eye sore to some riders, the all new 2009 deity Fantom line of stems feature incredibly clean lines, rounded edges, and multiple internal machining processes to remove every gram possible. With internal cross machining, machined channels in the faceplates, incredibly short stack heights (especially on the 25.4 model), and machined windows on either side of the stem body, deity has been able to design a line of stems that are not only lightweight, but also strong enough for the biggest lines you can hit.

Featuring a compact 38mm stack height and compatible with 1.5 steerer tubes, the deity Fantom 1.5 Stems true 0 degree rise coupled with the countersunk bottom allow you to bring your front end lower than almost every stem on the market. With the unrivaled power of deity’s rearward reverse clamping design, deity is able to remove unnecessary material internally and deliver you a stem that is stiff, strong, light, and not burdened with gimmicks.

Fantom 25.4 Stem-

The long awaited 2009 deity Fantom 25.4 Stem is a lightweight contender in a super compact design which features one of the shortest stack heights in the industry. Stiff, strong, light, and with a Limited Lifetime Warranty, the 193 gram Fantom 25.4 continues the evolution of deity and their notorious reputation for never settling for mediocrity.

At a 33mm stack height, the Fantom 25.4 is amazingly compact and is worlds away from the past 25.4 stem which was not only too heavy, but too big for deity’s tastes. With feedback from you, their riders, and more…the deity Fantom 25.4 Stem is a lightweight design that is stiff, strong, and in a compact package that has clean lines and a no-gimmicks approach to stem design. Available in either black powdercoat or white powdercoat (polished black anodized version coming late 2009), the Fantom 25.4 is a premiere lightweight choice for any aggressive rider looking for the best detail, stiffness, strength, and look that you deserve in today’s saturated market of countless stem options.

Fantom 31.8 V2 Stem-

With a constant desire to improve the products deity delivers to you, they were excited and eager to revisit the 31.8 stem platform and start from the ground up. From removing every gram possible to create a very lightweight design while actually increasing the stiffness in comparison to their old stems, deity is able to bring you a stem that is a huge step up from their past 31.8 models.

Featuring a short 38mm stack height, the 2009 deity Fantom 31.8 Stem allows for increased options not only in terms of steerer tube compatibility, but also allows you to bring your front end lower than most stems on the market. At a true 0 degree rise, the deity Fantom 31.8 Stem offers a shorter bar height position than many of the lowest direct mount stems available. The lightest deity 31.8 stem model ever made, the 215 gram 2009 Fantom 31.8 Stem brings a cleanliness to your front end in a short stack height that exemplifies classic deity style.

“We are incredibly excited about the progression our stems have made since our heavy and bulky early models from 2004-2007. The response and feedback to the 2009 Fantom line from every one of our riders has been tremendous and reaffirms that we are constantly moving into the right direction.” Eric Davies (Owner and Designer)

The all new Alibi Series of sprockets are designed specifically for the rider who wants to run 3 piece cranks with a chainguide. Available in two formats, the Alibi LT Sprocket and the Alibi 4B Sprocket simplify set up of any chainguide to a 3 piece crankset…

Alibi LT Sprocket-

Designed specifically around the strict tolerances and requirements of an Ethirteen LG1 or MRP G2 chainguide, the deity Alibi LT is a super lightweight sprocket that replaces the conventional, heavier, and more expensive "spider + chainring" combo into one unit that is actually lighter, stiffer, stronger, and easier to set up with an e13 LG1 or MRP G2 chainguide than any option on the market.

Structurally supported in key areas by 3mm thick cross beams, the deity Alibi LT features four mounting positions that allow you to rotate your sprocket and increase tooth durability during multiple seasons by displacing the load and torque across multiple sections of teeth instead of centralized in one area. Machined from the highest grade 7075 T6 aluminum and available in a 34t, 36t and 38t size, every gram has been shaved to deliver you one of the lightest race ready options for a 3 piece crankset that will not only save you weight, hassle, and time, but will be stronger and stiffer than what you ran before. Available in hard black anodized or white powdercoat and weighing in at only 90 grams for the 34T model, set up of a 3 piece crankset with the elite e13 LG1 and MRP G2 chainguides has never been easier!

“We personally do not run anything but the LG1 on all of our downhill bikes for good reason. Our concerns have been the limited supply of options for the countless riders running 3 piece cranks with either the LG1 or the MRP G2. The Alibi LT was born from necessity and the weight of it is unbelievable. You really need to hold one in your hand…” Eric Davies (Owner and Designer)

Alibi 4B Sprocket-

Compatible with all 4 Bolt chain-guides on the market from the premiere manufacturers such as Ethirteen, MRP, Gamut, and more, the deity Alibi 4B Sprocket is a dramatic improvement from the 2008 Revolution4B sprocket as it is not only substantially lighter weight but just as strong.

Featuring a flush mounting face that allows you to simply direct mount your 4 Bolt bash guard without requiring spacers, files, or more to achieve the exact spacing you need to avoid dropping chains, the deity Alibi 4B Sprocket also gives you a range of 4 mounting positions so that you can rotate your sprocket to increase tooth durability for multiple seasons. Available in a 34T, 36T, and 38T size and machined from hard 7075 T6 aluminum, the deity Alibi 4B Sprocket features full countersunk hardware on the back and is incredibly light, strong, and will save you from replacing spiders and chainrings mid season.

Enoki Grip-

A homage to the classic twenty inch mushroom style favorite, the Enoki Grip pays tribute to the BMX classic, but with its own style, features, and feel. Featuring durable 0.8mm wide ribs that delivers incredible shock absorption, the deity Enoki Grip's unique 12 sided profile offers increased grip to keep your hands from slipping while being one of the most comfortable grips available.

Held secure by deity’s T-Clamps and coming in at a 130mm length, The Enoki Grips only get better with time as the 0.8mm wide rib pattern settles in and they form to your personal hands. Unlike the super thin ribs of other mushroom style grips, the added width of the Enoki ribs not only increase the durability of the grip, but also allow the ribs to hold their shape and form. In a 130mm length and featuring a smaller flange for clearance with Shimano and Sram shifters, all deity Lock On grips are available with either black anodized or white powdercoat clamps.

Lean Grip-

The deity Lean Grip lives by its name and is one of the thinnest lock on grips available for riders who have smaller hands or love the feel of a thinner grip. By utilizing a micro-knurled grip pattern, the narrow profile of the deity Lean Grip offers riders another option in a sea of lock on grip variations where finding a super narrow lock on grip profile is not only challenging, but almost impossible until now. From hand/arm pump and fatigue to so much more, the benefits of a thinner grip all depend on each individual rider so whether you have smaller hands or have been in search of a thinner lock on grip, the deity Lean Grips are for you!

Each deity Lock On Grip features T-Clamps that pinch and secure your grip from any movement or possible play that seems to develop on most other lock on grip designs. Forged and machined from 6061 T6 aluminum, the deity T-Clamps are held in place by oversized 3mm allen bolts which allow for increased torque while minimizing issues with stripped smaller hardware.

Classic Grip-

A classic favorite among all riding disciplines, the knurled grip pattern of the deity Classic Grip is something many of you are used to and probably currently run. At a medium thickness and featuring a super tacky rubber compound, the deity Classic Grip utilizes a smaller 46mm flange diameter that addresses clearance issues riders have had with running flanged grips with shifters.

Instead of a 53mm+ flange diameter found on almost all other flanged grips, the smaller flange diameter of the deity Lock On line of grips offer the clearance necessary for shifters, so taking a knife to your grip's flange is a thing of the past!

Decoy Pedals-

The concave, extruded and cnc machined body of the deity Decoy pedals offers a minimalistic approach to save every gram possible with an emphasis on clean lines. A tried and true design, the Decoy pedals are a top option for riders looking for a super thin, lightweight, and durable pedal that will not break the bank.

Spinning on a Double Micro Sealed Bearing and DU Bushing system, the 430 gram deity Decoy pedals avoid unnecessary features found on some thin pedals that simply add weight, such as the use of screw style pins that thread in from the back. Featuring non-screw style pins which not only save 50+ grams of unneeded and useless weight, when the time comes to replace your pins…removal of the Decoy pins will not damage the threads of your pedal body.

It comes down to simplicity in a super thin lightweight platform that is the top choice from downhill racers across the globe to dirt jumpers at the local trails. Available in either black anodized or white powdercoat, the deity Decoy Pedals are in stock and shipping to your local dealers as you read this.

“The first release of our Decoy Pedals utilize an established and incredibly durable spindle and internal design that you will find on a few thin pedals on the market. Nevertheless, we want to separate ourselves from other companies as much as possible, so you can expect to see some interesting things coming from us in late 2009 in the pedal department. With a 365 gram Decoy LT pedal currently in testing phases…I have a feeling riders may fall in love with the direction we are going.” Eric Davies (Owner and Designer)

Act quick though, as the crew at deity will be giving away a set of Decoy Pedals for FREE to a lucky deity customer. To enter, simply e-mail a picture of your bike to contest@deitycomponents.com by the drop dead deadline of November 7th at midnight PST. The catch is…your bike must have a deity part on it to be eligible!

A 110% Rider owned, operated, designed, developed, and funded company, deity’s plans for 2009 are just beginning. With multiple projects in the works that will definitely shake things up, you can also expect to see more new offerings in late 2009. From new jump saddles, DH race saddles, expansions on deity’s handlebar selection, the first limited edition color, super light Decoy LT pedals, and so much more…you may also see the first prototype of the new deity frame.

When people state that we do not design our parts...it is beyond rediculous. I design everything myself and am glad to answer any questions, as always.

I would recommend looking at our entire product line...

If that comment is because of our pedals... I have already addressed why we chose to run this type of internal system on our pedals and if the shape or similarity to another pedal bothers anyone, we will have the Decoy LT pedals in Spring.

I have always said it...you gotta love the wonderful internet and the dedicated deity haters.
