Diverse Suspension is originally from the world of motocross and have recently jumped into the mountain bike game. Their Dueler DH shock approaches suspension in a different way to a lot of other mountain bike suspension companies. Instead of complicated dampers with strange names, the Dueler uses straight forward adjustments and a simple, but proven, motocross based design. No silly pedaling platforms or lockout switches, just oil and shims. Adjustments include separate high and low speed compression, rebound, and pre-load. On top of their shocks Diverse also sells titanium springs to fit pretty much any shock made and starting at only $149 USD.

One thing that sets the Dueler apart from most other shocks is that the rider or mechanic has access to every single part within the shock. From seals and bumpers, to shims and even pistons, the consumer can contact Diverse Suspension directly and perform their own work. You'll also find exploded views which should help. For those of you out there who have the desire and knowledge (or at least want the knowledge), this should be a huge bonus. Diverse also has all the tools that you'll need available for sale. Big props!

you know, with dorados coming back, I can see a shiver making it's way back one day. Things like this shock reinforce that idea. More easily servicable, less complicated to dial in stuff. Right on guys. I'm needing to replace this damn roco that keeps going through seals like a hooker does condoms. I'll definitely be looking into this more.

i propped you because of the hooker and condoms thing lmao
  • 2 1
yea, im havin the same probs with my roco, 3rd set of seals, its startig to really piss me off!

There is one on sdh; apparently they are actually relatively good, up there with dhx etc. Of course they are going to be nothing mindblowing but at that price you can't really go wrong. Unless they last around 4 months then explode into a million pieces.

I think they could have done better with the graphics though, it makes it look really tacky IMO, kind of like they had 5 minutes before it goes into production so someone just wrote it on with a marker pen.

I've had a roco, it never had a service in 4 years and not once failed! In fact it was sold to a friend which rode it or a year and still currently has it today! It had to have been blessed!! Or was constructed by NASA

  • 13 0
haha yes....but do you ever get a warranty which includes wear and tear? "I'm sending back my 2010 demo because it has a paint chip, I want a new one"

I like this idea of a completly serviceable shock...were every component can just be changed out like it were a car...i imagine a day were i go into a bike shop and buy a repair bible for my suspension and do it myself as i would with my car.

Looks nice and their super cheap. If their suspension doesn't completely suck they will be successful

i would definitely try this out for the price

Fadi hooked me up with a spring at Sea Otter. I scoped the shock and it's quite nice actually. Kinda heavy it seemed, but for that price?!? With a TI SPRING?!? Wow...
  • 1 0
its actually not THAT cheap. for a DH size shock the 3 * 9.5 size costs 500$ and fox cost 585$ or an elka for 500$ sure you get a ti spring instead of a steel one but fox has a more proven mtb platform. Either way dont get fooled by the 390$ quoted because thats only the price for the smallest shock size using their generic weighted spring.

I have one on my glory and love the thing. I had the DHX with ti spring on it and i love how easy it is to play with. Im no suspension expert but one day i went out with both the fox dhx and the diverse and rode our rough 6 minute trail. The second ride i put the diverse on and the first thing i noticed was pedal bob was so much better than the fox. While i was climbing a few sections and when i was on the flatter rougher sections i was able to pedal so much better. I also felt that in the rough sections my bike was skipping over rocks more rather than my rear wheel falling into every hole like i felt with the fox. I have ridden a dhx, double barrell and diverse and i really like this diverse with ti spring. Deff check it out and give Fadi a call hes a great guy who will help you set it up based on your riding and or racing.

can somebody direct me to a shop where this baby is gonna be on sale? looks great, sounds like it's gonna be a great product, and the price makes you jizz. Big Grin gotta shange my swinger 6-way soon.

I think this would be a great product for custom suspension tuners like www.suspensionwerx.com to work with. It's a basic shock out of the box, but completely custom tuneable by suspension experts.

The real deal is that one can get parts to rebuild their own shock! Try that with Fox.
  • 1 0
 Hahahahaha been there done that

  • 1 1
For money its gotta be worth a try atleast you get a ti spring out if it if the shock is garbage
  • 1 0
Yeah, That sounds really good, it says price (starting at 389 w the titanium spring) what is better?
  • 1 0
where can i buy this in uk.?????
  • 1 0
Hey Lakesripper, give me a mail info@locotuning.co.uk distributing, serviceing in the UK, we're also running one on a team dh bike, it's working really nicely.
  • 1 1
what does lifetime warranty excluding wear and tear mean? sick shocks though
  • 2 0
that's what i was wondering, i guess if you purposely break it, that is covered by warranty but if it just breaks while riding, it doesn't lol
  • 1 0
If there's a manufacturer's defect they'll cover it, if the reservoir snaps off in crash, probably not.
  • 1 0
If you break it in a way that it should not break, they will warrantee it. If you crash and smash it on a rock they will not. That is my guess, at least.
  • 1 1
 that looks so sick
  • 3 4
its just like a cane creek double barrel!
  • 8 1
 but cheaper!!
  • 7 1
 a lot!
  • 1 1
And a tad bit more simple.....just a tad
