e*thirteen continues its tireless effort to perfect chain retention systems and in the process has pushed the limits of materials technology and engineering design even further with the new LS1+. Long ago we realized the importance of making advanced technologies more accessible to budget conscious riders and racers. In a recent effort to keep the economic barrier from allowing riders to enjoy the sports of downhill riding and racing we had introduced the SS+ steel backplate chain retention system. The overwhelmingly positive reception of the SS+ has paved the way for our next installment, the LS1+.

e*thirteen’s new LS1+ guide is the second generation of the already popular LS1. Following in the footprints of its older sibling, the LS1+ leverages the strength and reliability that helped the LG1+ become the most highly sought after race day chain retention system in the world.

This groundbreaking design was shaped by hundreds of hours of engineering and analysis. Once again, e*thirteen has pushed the limits of new technologies, and through advancing stamped steel manufacturing, has produced the most technologically advanced direct mount bashguard capable chain retention system ever conceived for price conscious riders.

After over a year’s worth of testing on our own bikes and the World Cup circuit, the LS1+ has proven itself to be just as strong and reliable as the LG1+ retention system, and at a meager 245 grams, the LS1+ is lighter and stronger than almost all of our competition’s top end aluminum chainguides— at almost half the price!

The new LS1+ comes equipped with a removable Direct Mount Bashguard in either a 36T or 40T size. Use the LS1+ without the Direct Mount Bashguard for your 4X race on Saturday night and bolt the bashguard back on for your DH race on Sunday afternoon!

If the SS+ deleted the old adage “Cheap, light and strong – you can only pick two” then the LS1+ just obliterated it - like a Death-Star-explosion-inside-a-black-hole-obliteration.

LS1+ Chain Retention System:

•Uses World Cup winning LG1+ guide design
•Adjustable wearplates allow for 32–40T chainring capacity
•Wearplates have chainring size indicators for simple position adjustment patents pending
•Easily change chains and chainrings w/o removing wearplates patents pending
•Optional impact-flexure design Direct Mount Bashguard patents pending
•Direct Mount Bashguard is available in 36T or 40T maximum chainring capacity
•Captive hardware patents pending
•High tensile chrome-moly steel backplate patents pending
•Anti-corrosion nickel-chrome plated
•New Tech 3 Stealth Idler
•245 grams light! That’s lighter than most of our competitors’ top end aluminum chainguides!

Did we mention it’s only $59.95 USD for the naked LS1+ and $89.95 for the fully equipped system? How’s that for recession proof?

Shipping on OEM bikes now and to distributors worldwide in late February.

WOW..... that is really impressive. Now lets see how mrp and gamut react to this.

Superstar laser chain device has just been reviewed in MBUK, £35 and they said it was the budget option... when you can get this for £40. I love E-Thirteen Razz and as for MRP and Gamut, i cant honestly see them doing much better, prove me wrong guys Wink

the superstar chain device is basicly the same as the da bomb one, looks like we wont have to pay much for a sick device.
  • 1 0
That's awesome! I'll be picking one up for sure! Will it come in both ISCG Old and ISCG 05?
  • 1 0
i just got a laser chain device, very nice but the bolts are so damn soft, i've rounded two on the upper guide already...
  • 1 0
though i guess for £30 i can't complain too much
  • 10 0
Never thought i would call a chain device sexy...but that is sexy.
  • 1 1
Does that weight include the bashguard? I'm skeptical since the original press release on sicklines.com touted a $60 price and then at the end said, "+ just $30 for the bashguard". That's misleading. I'm glad they corrected it. I just hope the weight isn't misleading as well.

If you contacted E13 via email, I can see why. Makes my brain mushy just trying to figure out what the hell you are saying. Punctuation is good.
  • 1 3
So you guys are judging a product based on how the company's customer service is? That's pretty shallow.
  • 2 1
No, not when you can get an equally good product with good people to back you up when you need it
  • 2 2
Nothing I've ever used as far as chainguides go has measured up to E.13. Blackspire, MRP, Gamut, RaceFace, etc. Nothing compares.

Watch out here, world first. AGREEING with Seraph. e13 guides have been by far the best parts guide wise. Also, Philip from e13 is nothing less than stellar at helping people out in our forums. Contacting him would be advised.

Phil is PR, not exactly customer service IMO
  • 1 0
what? phil will hook you up with help! e13 is so small so all the staff there will be doing a bit of everything

e13 is the bomb
  • 1 1
dude phil sux a fat 1 lol I have been dealing with him and hasnt done anything but lie thru his teeth I was supposed to have this resolved 3 months ago and aint a peep from him I talked to him on many forms even aim {insomnicphil86} and with e13 directly and nothing

looks like a flimsy piece of crap. Usually you get what you pay for, so if price is any indication of quality 60 bucks seems about right.
  • 3 0
 Since when is steel flimsy?
  • 1 1
Its stamped sheet metal if you are not aware this is the cheapest way of making a metal product. IF it last 1 season is it worth it? Not really if you can get 3 seasons out of a quality product for 3 times the price. Personally I like durable products that last longer then 1 season. Having said that if I was on a budget I'd check the buy and sell for a second hand item over buying this walmart grade piece of ish. Don't cheap out on downhill parts it hurts to much.

I've got the old style LS1, it's really good. Might get this sometime this year if I have the money.
  • 3 0
 SHINY!
  • 1 0
good choise for everybody! the lg1+ is lighter only with 50 gramm, but more expensive
  • 1 0
So where can you get these for $89 then???can only find i for $130, was gonna get it shipped over
  • 1 0
great, i just bought an lg1. i dont think this is even out yet though and its heavier, so i guess my ass is covered
  • 3 5
looksb goodb for the money. I think the price and the looks speak well for themselves, so that this marketing talk about hundreds of hours spent developing it is unnecessary and as it is a cheap lie it only pisXXX me off. If its 101 hours I agree, but don't pretend its much more cuz, when you multiply 300 hours per 300$ per hour of emplyment fees and salary it comes out quite of a expensive R&D process for a product worth 35bucks before tax and shop fees, giving the producer like 5% of income... isn it?!
  • 7 0
 uh, what?
  • 1 0
wish my frame had the mounts for a chain guide 'sadface'
  • 1 0
you can get a mount, im not sure if its incliuded with this one . but when i bought the old ls1 you get the option of a bb mounted iscg plate at no extra cost, quite alot of frames dont have iscg mounts .
  • 1 0
yup iscg 05 comes with bb mount i think
  • 1 0
ic ic so i think that this will have to go on the list of things to buy for my bike this season then lol
  • 1 0
is a cheaper version thats all u want the one with gold bolts
  • 2 1
omg soooo pretty!!! soooo nice!!! i know what my next chainguide is!!
  • 1 0

  • 1 0

  • 1 0

  • 4 7
interesting concept... i think they should have just found a way of making the lg1+ less expensive though. still, i would put it on my bike.
  • 11 0
what theyve done is make the lg1+ less expensive.. this is it
  • 1 0
i can see the stupidity of my comment now. i posted it right after i woke up. Razz i think i meant without making it heavier.
