Great to see Martin Maes putting it together again for some dominant tmes! Jesse Melamed is right there again too! Looks like he must have had an issue in the first stage but 2nd and 3rd on stage 2 and 3 is pretty awesome! Will be interesting to see if he can pull himself back on the podium at the end. He definitely has the speed!

 *5th on stage 2, not 2nd
  • 5 3
Anyone know what the overall pts situation is between R. Rude and Maes.
  • 5 0
@nicolai12: There's a big gap, after Maes busted himself at Fort William, he missed a race or two.

@recipher: Thanks seems like the overall is tightening up nonetheless. Can't wait for video coverage!
  • 9 1
@nicolai12: if Richie finishes he wins. The gap is quite big
  • 1 1
Isn't Maes the youngest person to win a EWS?

Oh nice! Anne Caro is racing again... and she is 3rd?!
  • 4 0
Yeah but it's going to be her last race. Ever Frown
  • 2 1
@leopaul: Oh really?! That is a shame but I guess an illness like she had really takes it out of you! :'(

ACC
Anne Caroline Chausson won’t be racing tomorrow, so stage 3 was her last ever EWS stage, and her fellow racers decided to make sure she had a good send off. We’ll miss you at the races Anne!

I wish she could have won a EWS title before retiring
  • 11 0
I just saw her racing today on stage 3, riding like the speed queen she is. Brought tears to my eyes.
  • 10 1
@y0eddy: she won everything in DH. No need of en EWS title
  • 2 0
That was the big news to me. Maybe its me BMX roots - but that Shiela is mega!

ACC is a hero. Even without having gone through such an illness, it is amazing she's been going for so long. Been performing so well in so many disciplines. She is relatively shy compared to the current top performers in the ladies field, but the facts alone should make her an inspiration for anyone whether you want to become a top athlete or have to battle a terrible dissease. Tough as she is, I wish her a long healty life outside racing, but full of amazing epic rides.

If we include the under 21 category, Adrien Dailly won stage 1 and is second overall!!!
  • 4 0
That kid is wicked fast! Is he moving to Elite next year?
  • 18 1
We Maes well throw in a few puns whilst we're here...

I think this is one of my favourite ever

 That was a Wyner.

 ACC: Respect !!!

Barring ay problems, its going to be Rudes title again. Ravanel is another class even though she already has it won.

Sam Hill still going strong, looking forward to seeing what he can do with focus 100% on enduro from the off.

Is that what he's actually doing? I thought it was only til the end of the season?
  • 2 1
That typo made me think of a man in a flat cap tackling Richie off his bike mid stage. "Richie what went wrong?"... "I had had Ay problems,"
  • 1 0
@el-nombre: nope, Hill will be riding the full EWS next year and just a few DH worldcups
  • 9 0
So stoked for Anne-Caro! Too bad she's retiring, but after all what she went through, that's totally understandable. I wish her the best for her post-racing career.
  • 11 1
Go Richie and Sam, but being Canadian...Go Remi, Miranda and Jesse!!!!

Aaannnd his debut Spesh season is completed in the traditional style. Hope it's as minor as he makes out.

That picture was hilarious. All for an ankle.
  • 3 0
 His grin is hilarious.
  • 10 8
Italian public service is usually pretty serious about their job... like doctors will put you into a heli with a broken ankle, or cops can give you a fine for pulling wheelies. I got stopped by Carabinieri for doing S-turns and bunny hops on empty asphalt road, despite staying within my lane. Dude was really upset.

@WAKIdesigns: You forgot to mention that it was 4am, you were naked and screaming profanities in your native tongue at the street lamps.
  • 1 0
That Is top notch first aid. Guess he'll have bionic ankles after that. Hope he's okay though.
  • 3 0
@PanCascadian: the end result was an ankle, but from what I have heard he had a pretty nasty wreck and destroyed his helmet. With any head injury they are going to take the upmost precaution to be certain he doesn't have any neck injury that could become worse in the handling of him.

Feels a bit sad. ACC retired, Vouilloz retired, peaty retired, Tracy Mosely retired, ratboy canal boat sabbatical, stevie smith.... 2016 will be seen as another changing of the guard. Good luck guys/girls.

MTB is awesome and will survive and grow.........roll on 2017!!!!!!!

No one else noticed Bruni and Minaar further down the standings? (Around 80th). Makes me believe Sam put a little bit more focus into EWS than DH this season.
  • 3 0
Greg has been posting videos. They're blind riding the stages and the transfers have been putting the wood to them.

 @kusanagi72: Retiring.
  • 1 0
@jclnv: @Marco1972: OK checked it at Anneke herself today. She is NOT retiring form Enduro racing. Her reply was: "...Noooooooo! Not true at all, hoping to keep my wheels spinning for a couple more years...."

Aren't you guys mixing up Anneke with Anne Caroline. I know, so difficult all those foreign names Wink
  • 2 0
@kusanagi72: it was definitely stated somewhere that she was retiring. I was as surprised as you. I'll have a look for it tonight but must have been on here or Cital.
  • 2 0
Does anyone knows what happened to Anneke

running the course blind is a bit hard ha
  • 4 4
 @Jokesterwild:

If everyone ran it blind - he'd be right up there. I like the idea of running it blind - How is Enduro not like a multiple DH run event on smaller bikes?
  • 1 0
Go Bex Baraona! Northern Girl, we'll be thinking of you back home racing around Grizedale Wink
