Video: Fabien Barel Presents - Petanque with Grandma and Jey
The 2014 riding season must be officially underway, because Fab has released his first film of the year. It's hard to believe this is ALREADY the 3rd season of Fabien Barel Presents, but here we are! In classic fashion, Fab's kicking off the 2014 season by starting in his home region, the south of France. These dusty grey ridges are becoming famous, thanks to photos of the Trans Provence and other events and riders. But in fact, this is the first time Fab has filmed so close to his home. No doubt, he's ready to ride...

 But before he gets on the bike, Fab has to introduce his special guest Jerome Clementz to one of the social games of the region. |

| It's called "petanque" and it's an ancient game that involves tossing round balls at a target area and trying to knock the competitor's ball out of the way. It's not so different from shuffleboard or curling or any number of social games around the world. In this case, Jey comes up short on skill and gets scolded by Fab's grandmother. Yep, she makes a cameo appearance and tells the guys to go get on their bikes, which they're happy to do. |

| Once on the bikes, it's classic Fabien, as he tears perfect lines off the top of his native grey soil. Jey follows and it's clear these guys are far better on the bike than playing petanque. |

| By now, we are all painfully aware that Fab crashed hard during round 1 of the Enduro World Series in Chile. This episode was filmed before his trip to Chile and unfortunately, this will be the last episode we can see for the next few months. The series is on pause while we all hope for Fabien to have a fast and full recovery. Reports from France indicate that he's doing well, he's excited to ride again and to introduce more special guests to his film series. |

These guys are obviously two amazing riders - but don't mistake a light hearted video with them not taking themselves seriously when it comes to racing.
These guys like to win (and apparently don't mind ripping around for fun either)

I may be wrong but looks like this has been shot not too far from the place where Nico spanked (again) road bikers with an electric MTB. Fun as well, no matter what you may think about electric bike
